On the Slovenia photo, a pop-up says: “404 – Not found. We searched the space, but we couldn’t find the page you’re looking for.”

Next I copied and pasted the link in the Google search engine and the photo is immediately shown. Strange.

So instead of the photo, I’m posting my favorite cellist who was born in Slovenia and still lives there after touring the world for ten years as part of the 2CELLOS duo. Enjoy!

Slovenian/Croatian Luka Sulic performs his composition “Blue Heart” which he released today on YT. The instrumental is one of the compositions on his album entitled LIFE which is being released in late March….

Spectacular picture. I copy/pasted it (w/o the “.” on the end) into my browser and found it too.

Morning Wee. We used to have an iguana. He was not a pleasant creature. I had to battle the little bastage for my reading chair. It was a very pretty floral print, kind of a tropical print. Apparently, he thought that was his jungle.

Funny tale, how we got him. One Halloween when the kids were young, my husband spotted him outside at the shipyard, on top of an electrical box by the door to the shop.

Thinking someone had put it there as a Halloween joke, he reached for it, and the iguana flared his dew lap and got as aggressive as they can get. Knowing that it would die outside, my husband took it into the shop and brought it home after work, not being able to find out where it came from.

And so, Igor (Halloween) the iguana joined the long line of really strange pets we had. Not strange species, like he was, just weird animals, personality wise. They sure seemed to pick us, and fit right in!

In Miami, an iguana lived in my mother’s back yard. It walked on the phone line from a tree on one side of the yard to a tree on the other side several times a day. My brother decided he had a family in each tree and was a bigamist.

Possibly another iguana hitched a ride on the trunk of my mother’s car, and she didn’t know until several miles later when another motorist honked until she pulled over. Iguana trundled off into the trees.

Happy Saturday! Another very cold day, but at least it isn’t snowing, and the sun is shining.

My thoughts have been on seed starting, and I learned that there are some that I can start now for my area, mostly leafy brassicas like kale, cabbages, lettuces, herbs, and alliums (onions etc.) I think peas are on the list too.

Here in Michigan we have a very brief Spring, so it is extra important to start our cold weather crops as soon as we can to avoid bolting.

Last year Conner and I misjudged and started things at least three weeks too early. I guess I was optimistic!

This year I’m going to specifically look at things that thrive in our Greenstalk and order more special seeds recommended for it.

Good idea! Lettuces do really well, I hear. A couple of years ago I started lettuce in grow bags, seeded thick, then cut them when they are small. They keep growing for quite a while, so you get a lot of salads out of them.

Czar said peas don’t like to be transplanted. You have to place the pea in its correct place in the garden after the appropriate planting time. We planted very early petit pois and got lots.

Afternoon all. Woke up about 5:30 and dozed, then the garbage truck came about 6:30. It was funny because I could tell they were trying very hard to be as quiet as a garbage truck can be. Not very. But, I give them credit for trying. 🙂 For some reason they missed us yesterday.

It is a balmy 21 degrees right now. I evidently snowed a little last night and we do expect snow later and I still can’t get out of my parking space. If you think I am obsessed with the weather…………..you are probably right. But, think about my background. 🙄 I talked to a lady yesterday who had plans to go to Florida in August, you know, after it cooled off. I told here if she wanted to wait until it cooled off, she needed to go in late October or November. She said the heat makes her sick. August = bad.

Hope you all stay warm and cozy.

Hi there! The reason why the garbage truck came today instead of yesterday is probably because it was MLK day on Monday, and they had the day off. Means that every garbage day is off by one day for this week. That is what happens here.

Aus, my husband and I used to love to go the Tybee Island and Savannah in November. Yes, the weather is so much better, and that matters, but important to us, there weren’t many people!
