Good day, Menagerie! Luckily I stocked up recently. Honestly, I’m so cold that I’ve got gloves on while typing. I don’t think we were this cold last year or any year sinceI moved to snow country.

Well, Czarina, I was hoping to find a vid of “Beautiful Dreamer” sung by Koreans at a garden party where peach melba was being served but the “vision board” was incorrect as were the stickers I found pasted all over town saying that the North Korean Choir would be singing several melodies which would be inappropriate in our pc times. Turns out they had to cancel.

Every corporation and industry in 1968 was pressured to hire ethnic minorities AND women. Human Resources memos were flying all over the place.
Funny little story from my years at Universal Studios…we got THE MEMO and were told that a certain percentage of actors had to be racial/ethnic minorities and more women needed to be given roles as doctors, lawyers, business leaders, etc. I was working on a number of TV series at the time, one of which was “Here’s Lucy” starring Lucille Ball and co-starring her daughter, Lucie Arnaz, and son, Desi Arnaz, Jr.
Each episode of every TV series had to provide to studio management a list of all “minority” hires and what type of role they played. Everyone was scrambling to locate experienced actors for said categories to fill up their reports. So I suggested to the casting director that he include both Lucie and Desi in the reports. At first he balked, but when I told him that just because their father is rich doesn’t mean they aren’t minorities (or 1/2 minority, anyway). So they got included. LOL!
Turns out that it wasn’t at all difficult to find good actors of all races since Los Angeles had a stage play industry in all communities as did New York City and other major metropolises. Best of all for the studios, the money kept rolling on in and audiences loved the new shows.

Afternoon, All. It was -30* when we got up this morning. I checked the thermometer in the bdrm in the middle of the night and it was only 61*. I needed one more cover. Right now it is -14* outside and bright and sunny. Not a cloud in the sky. And, very still.

Absolutely fire them but not before they are forced to view the atrocities Hamas committed. Probably wouldn’t do any good to change their minds, they are that indoctrinated. But most folks regardless of political allegiance would think putting babies in ovens is an act of savagery, though it’s not such to jihadists who have been brainwashed from birth into following the tenets of their political cult masquerading as a religion.
