Holidays at Nemours Estate, Wilmington, Delaware…

Alfred I. duPont built “America’s Versailles” for his wife on a 3,000-acre plot in Wilmington in the early 20th century, and they started opening their home at Christmas from the year they moved in. Today, the estate celebrates the holiday season with a blend of original decorations – including 19th-century German crèche – and modern design, with room for 17 Christmas trees, 19 wreaths, and garland throughout Nemours Estate.

Mornin’ all ya’all. Plumbers’ helpers will start excavating under my kitchen today. Have to tunnel and remove sewer pipe which has blocked up from the sink to the main line. Unfortunately it will rain in the middle of the day; clear skies the rest of the week.

Mornin’, kids! Coffee’s up, come grab a cup! Time to start thinking about what I might get Mrs. T for Christmas. Maybe a new mower or something like that. I’ve got til next Saturday before I start shopping, so if y’all can think of something nice, just let me know. 😉

Well, my husband almost always wants to get me a new shotgun. 🙄

However, this year he somewhat reluctantly decided to forego buying me my umpteenth shotgun. Instead I got a huge pastry board to leave on my bar for my bread making activities, as well as a beautimous crock Wee found that will hold my sourdough starter.

      In other words, I prevailed!

Morning T, and thanks for the coffee.

Those are stunning! In more ways than one! They shall go on the list. BTW, I should clarify, I’m only beginning the shopping phase which entails looking for stuff. The actual buying process will likely commence as noted below, by one of you wiseacres! 😉

Mornin’, Menage! I sure do like the way your hubby thinks. It’s all about the family. Not only can you prepare the meal, you can also go all Granny Clampett and go git it, too! Enjoy your coffee. It’s on all day!

My father used to go out late Christmas Eve afternoon and come back with something in a bag. My mother ALWAYS said he waited until the last minute to find something for her when everything was gone. What she didn’t know, and I believe she never knew, was that he had already bought her present earlier, sometimes months earlier. I didn’t know that until he was in his 80’s.

I just read a post at AT that I hesitate to link to just because it’s so disgusting. But it shows rather explicitly how far this Country has fallen. It’s in the blog posts today and describes what a Senate staffer and his buddy did in a Senate hearing room that they then sent out on some media platform. Suffice it to say, it’s utterly revolting. What happened to at least having some level of pride, or decorum, or what’s right and wrong and what we might want to keep to ourselves. 😦

Oh, if only…….I’m so old that I can remember when the old high school football coach got about $500 “extra” for coaching the local team. This article is geared more towards the college and pro coaches, but what a gig this has turned into. I can’t imagine one of these guys being too upset when they get the axe.

I’m so happy that essentially nothing happened at the recent blowhard convention of Mensa midgets trying to get the US to stop using “fossil fuels”, even though Lurch gave it the old college try. The thing that sticks out to me most from this article is that there were 70,000 people in attendance for this thing. Since it was in Dubai or UAE, somewhere over is some desert, that means at least 69,000 had to fly to get there. Not one speck of irony from these grifters.

Afternoon All. Another fairly ugly day at 30* and overcast right now. It looks like it will probably be this way through Christmas unless it finally snows.

Our new baby boy is to be Baptized (Christened) tomorrow. Having been raised Southern Baptist, I am still working on accepting this as Baptism. I have no objections but I just look at it differently, I guess. I do like the idea of Christening a baby. I am looking forward to it anyway. 🙂

Well, hope you all have good weather and a nice day.

FBI Targeting of Devout Catholics Went Way Beyond What Chris Wray Claimed During Testimony to Congress
By Jim Hoft Dec. 15, 2023 8:40 pm

As Gateway Pundit reported in April, Chris Wray’s FBI is now infiltrating Catholic parishes.

The FBI agents are engaging in outreach to Catholic leaders to spy on Americans practicing their Christian faith.

This was a shocking revelation. Americans already knew the FBI-DOJ was targeting traditional Catholics from earlier reporting. We also have evidence they are infiltrating Catholic parishes.

I remember as a kid thinking that the FBI was the greatest thing since sliced bread. My Dad was a State Trooper and so I thought that those guys hung the moon. Little did I know what they were really doing all this time. Even when they were “respected” by the public, they were collecting dirt on just about anyone with power, real or perceived. People like Dr. King and others like John Lennon were “subversives”, much like they are doing today. The institution needs to be stripped to the floor and either done away with or turned completely inside out.
