Franklin Graham Travels to Israel to Help with Relief After October Massacre
    Posted November 15, 2023

Shockwaves reverberated throughout the world when Hamas attacked civilian communities in southern Israel on Oct. 7, slaughtering people of all ages and taking more than 200 hostages. Entire villages now lie empty as the survivors have been forced to flee their homes. With the growing threat of violence in the north, many more have fled. Hundreds of thousands of people are now internally displaced, having lost everything.

Morning everyone! We survived. And man, did I ever sleep good. We had more dishes than a lot of buffets, and it was all good. I was particularly happy in having three selections of dressing to choose from!

Had one meal only yesterday, but it was a doozy. Hope you all had a wonderful day as well.

The Black Friday tradition in our family as that the menfolk go shoot sporting clays. Something for them to do while the women shop. We women have never shopped. 🙄

Afternoon everyone. 22* with heavy frost and bright blue skies and lots of sunshine. It was a nice way, but very cold. Loki didn’t seem to mind coming in when we got back. Sometimes she stalls a little. LOL

Yesterday I went to my family’s home for dinner with them and her parents. It was very nice. We even talked a little politics because we are all of the same mind. I took a green bean casserole and a sweet potato soufflé. I finally made them correctly and they turned out really well. The turkey was huge, but very juicy and had a lot of flavor. My son’s boss buys a load of turkeys and gets a really good price, then sells it to the employees at cost. These are the unpoisoned and with no antibiotics.

We also played a little game. There were stories with blanks in them. Each blank needed a noun, verb, or other type of word to fill it in. So we went around the room and each person provided the word. The girls filled in the blanks. It was really funny and I was surprised somewhat with how quickly the girls could come up with the right type word. I had to think. Anyway it was a lot of fun.

Glad to hear you all had a nice day, too.

Good welcoming Friday to you, Czarina!

Black Friday was never a thing for me…not that I don’t like to shop–that’s always been a hobby. However, the 26th of December was THE DAY to shop. All Christmas gifts for the next year plus Christmas cards and decorations were purchased that day. No more since I can’t afford it but also since friend and family items must be sent and I can’t spend exhaustive hours at the post office anymore. But it was sure fun when I did it all. Now everyone gets a specially-composed Christmas email. If they don’t have email, they get nada.

As for a National Day of Listening…we already know half the country doesn’t know what that means.

Re the Maize and Native American Heritage Days, funny story. My brother-in-law’s family consistently believed they were 1/8th Cherokee. That was the story BIL was told by his father. About 5 years ago the cousins sent in their DNA and, of course, the story was just that–a long-believed story that wasn’t proven by the DNA tests. I’m sure actual Cherokees are having a big, cynical laugh at all the Caucasians who got special treatment for college entrance and the diversity/equity bit. C’est la vie!
