It could get really interesting to see what kind of video come out of this dump. I saw a couple snippets last night, and there should be some Capitol “police” with a lot of egg on their face regarding the lack of anarchy that was seen on the videos.

This is precious…….NYNY Mayor Adams goes hat-in-hand to the rich folk begging for bucks because the “migrants” are taking up too much money. The politician’s creed……always ask for more. Never go backwards. 😀 😀 😀

Afternoon All. It was all the way up to 30*with gray overcast when we got up this morning. Loki didn’t care. She is only interested in taking her walk.

Well, I coughed all night, but feel a little better this morning. I was afraid it might be partly allergy, maybe to the Balance of Nature I have been taking. I doubt it since I have been taking it so long. I tried it out about 10 months ago because I was feeling “old”. Not just weak or anything. Anyway, within three days I felt normal again. Also, my hair was falling out in handfuls and suddenly about a month ago, it stopped. Now it is back to normal. I can’t think of anything else that I changed. So, I didn’t want to have to quit taking it.

Anyway, hope you are all well.

Re excessive hair loss, I’ve experienced this 3 times specifically: two were due to taking steroids for auto-immune disorders and one after a fall, when I hit my head…hard. This article describes the follicle stages and helps understand the delayed effect of stress or other disruptions to one’s physical health. Chronic stress can cause permanent auto-immune disorder, so it’s worthwhile to develop calming skills.
This info helped me a lot the first time I was losing an alarming amount of hair, and it also clarifies the +/- three-month delay period between the cause and the actual hair loss.

I have had alopecia twice in my life, but just in small patches. The first time was due to stress, during the period before my divorce. The second time was due to hair treatment (spiral permanent).

Thanks. That sounds very familiar. And, I did take a fall and hit my head very hard on a ceramic trash can which was worse because it pushed into a cabinet. I still have a numb spot on my head where the lump was. I will have to think, I am not sure if that was when it started. I think I was having a little trouble for a year or two, but that may have set it off.

I don’t know that I had heard the entire piece before, but I’ve heard snippets. Music today has degraded so horribly, it’s embarrassing.

I was thinking the same thing, although there are still fine composers and musicians around. They aren’t “popular” though. I think most write movie scores.

I’m not a musician, but I grew up with an appreciation of all kinds of music. I sang in a choir, and my sister studied opera (she had a beautiful soprano voice.) I love jazz, classical and musical scores. I dated a guy who played jazz trombone, and his dad played for Louie Armstrong in the 1950’s. My ex played guitar beautifully, and he became a luthier in his later years. He also loved a wide range of musical styles.

Other classical favorites of mine are the 1812 Overture by Tchaikovsky (complete with cannon etc.), and Rimsky-Korsakov’s Scheherazade.

Add: Then there’s Ravel’s Bolero. My ex liked to play that when he was playing chess.

I found out later in his life that my father loved all kinds of music. He enjoyed from opera to Willie Nelson. However he considered RAP as crap, and not music.

Amazing coinciidence, Stella ~ my sister also studied opera and had a beautiful voice sounding almost identical to Joan Sutherland. She was studying to be a translator and already had 5 languages when she died in a car crash at the age of 19. Don’t you think the Scottish ancestry influenced that? (Thinking of Susan Boyle.)

Maybe partly the Scottish ancestry, although my sis had a different father than I, and had a lot of Irish too. My mother was widowed when her two children were very young (6 and 9.) She had a beautiful voice, but smoked and ruined her voice. That was what eventually killed her at age 60 – emphysema. She could also whistle like I have never heard anyone else do it.

This was my fathers favorite “classical” piece.

The Warsaw Concerto was written by Richard Addinsell for the 1941 British film Dangerous Moonlight, which is about the Polish struggle against the 1939 invasion by Nazi Germany.

The concerto is written in imitation of the style of Sergei Rachmaninoff.
