Our Favorite Sunday Columnist has some thoughts on Higher Ed this morning. Her piece is long and a bit unnerving. She pulls the bandage off the wound and exposes the sunshine to this atrocity and the responses around the US on college campuses. It is very disturbing. FYI, Clarice is a Jew for those unfamiliar.

Governor Hair-Gel continues to burn down his state. Make no mistake, he wants to do the same to the Country. The lowest paid worker in any hospital in the state now makes $25/hour. This means janitors, cleaning ladies…….not the professionals.

I’m betting this will not end well. Maine residents voting on whether to “fire” their two corporate-owned utility companies and instead, have the State run the grid for them. What could possibly go wrong with this. Even their Governor is not for this brilliant idea. Apparently, the utility companies are not going to just hand over all their work for free………..for starters.

Most people have no idea at all what it costs to run a company and that the true reason for high utility costs is the gubm’t (Federal or state).

Pretty sure they all think it will be free or something. Wait until they double their rates in about 3 years. It will be precious.

Most of them are incapable of logical thinking. If you ever work retail in a place like Home Depot, where the products demand that you know a little of the situation and usage of what you’re buying, you’ll see it, time and again. And they, especially women, get angry when you ask the relevant questions that they don’t know the answer to, and don’t want to find out.

Specifically in relation to energy, I can’t tell you how many people forcefully insisted I tell them how much, down to a dollar amount, they would save if they bought new and better windows, insulated their attic, etc. having not a clue that there were dozens of variables in such a calculation, and not even an engineer could figure something like that in his own house.

Speaking of attic insulation, in calculating how much you need, one of the simplest, most basic calculations for which you use math, and which almost no customer could ever do on his own, they will tell you the square footage of their house. When you ask how deep they want the blown insulation to be, anger and frustration ensues. Maybe 50% of the people can be made to understand that this is a necessary input for the calculation.

And, my all time favorite example, fractions. When a customer wants something cut just a bit under X and 3/8, for example. You say, okay X and 3/16. They scornfully tell you they want it smaller, not larger. Pull tape measure out and show them. Still maybe 50% who believe what you are showing them.

No, T. I firmly believe we have a whole society of people who can’t think. I’m teaching my second grade grade grandson some things adults don’t understand right now. I’m losing faith.

Just because people have been brainwashed from birth like the pontificating Obama doesn’t mean they can’t decide to think for themselves at some point. It’s a choice for everyone to seek the truth or not. That’s a choice he’s chosen not to make. It doesn’t enter his mind that he might be wrong.

Granted, it’s more difficult for many who have mental challenges. That’s where the beauty of Western Civilization kicks in…instructing folks on all levels HOW to think to the best of their abilities. Unfortunately, teachers chose not to learn the art. And when high schools and colleges stopped teaching thinking, that is the point where the Left entered their heavy win season still being played in 2023.

Everything truly turned to caca in the education realm when the gubmint decided that they know better. Although, I’ve tried that test on the web that is supposedly what my grandparents might have taken in the early 20th century and I didn’t do so well. And I got out of the public schools before they really screwed things up.

Even those grandparents who went to school in the late 1800s were well-educated for the time via the very popular McGuffey’s Reader. Was that the origin for the web test you took? Because it is quite difficult. Taking that test would disabuse many folks of the thought they know a whole lot.

Don’t want to bum anybody out any more than they already are, but this is what happened in Michigan this week, per an email I received from “Rescue Michigan”:

It’s been another ghastly week in Lansing.

This time, Democrats kept the House up until midnight on Wednesday night to pass bills to legalize late-term abortion, child sexual mutilation, and of course, making private insurers pay for it all.

The next day, they kept going until 1:00am, passing bills to destroy the energy grid in Michigan.

And of course, there were plenty of other monstrous bills, everything from criminalizing poll challenging and allowing Dana Nessel to file criminal charges against campaigns whose ads she deems inaccurate, to altering teacher evaluations to protect bad teachers, to prohibiting citizens convicted only of a misdemanor from keeping or bearing firearms.

    A shocking array, seemingly endless.

Not to mention, of course, a remarkable number of Republicans who voted along with them.

All of these libs know they have to do this as quickly as possible because once they’re found out, they will get run out of town. The worst part of these types of efforts is they lay landmines all around the legislation so that everything else gets torn up when we go in and try to fix things. They are truly evil, IMO.
