Queen Elizabeth passed away one year ago today at Balmoral Castle in Scotland.

Here is one of the last photos taken of the Queen on the day that she welcomed the newest Prime Minister, Liz Truss:

She was an incredible woman who did her duty as she saw it for seventy years. Remarkable.

    My father had a term which fits HM perfectly: ‘bien élevé’ (adjective: well brought-up).
