    Militant vegan ‘influencer’ starves to death

    You would think that the death of Steve Jobs from cancer after shunning conventional medical care and following a “fruitarian” regimen of treatment (until it was too late) would have been a warning about trying to subsist on fruit alone.

    But bad ideas can have a long shelf life, to use a turn of phase economist Steve Hanke has used, and there are people who persist with that bad idea.

    Unfortunately, one of them, a 39-year-old social media “influencer,” has apparently died of starvation because of it.

    According to the New York Post:

    Vegan influencer Zhanna Samsonova has reportedly “died of starvation” after subsisting exclusively off a diet of exotic fruit in Malaysia, according to her friends and family.

    She was 39.

    The Russian national — who frequently promoted raw foods on social media where she was known to her millions of viewers on TikTok, Facebook and Instagram as Zhanna D’Art — reportedly died July 21 after finally seeking medical treatment during a tour in Southeast Asia, according to local media outlet reports.

      Good day, Stella! Poor delusional woman. I’d wager she was an obsessive/compulsive victim. Hopefully her followers will take heed and make sure they’re getting proper nutrients thus avoiding chronic malnutrition and all the attendant malfunctioning of body organs.

      Back in the 70’s I had a neighbor who had a 4 yr old daughter who would only drink milk, no solid food, started having problems and the doctor said it was malnutrition. The mother said she couldn’t get her to eat and the doctor said for her not to give the child any more milk and she would eat. It worked. Moderation is key.

      Great! I am glad she wasn’t hurt. I know what it is to hold a 457 (or whatever ) magnum and I can’t imagine firing it. Too bad she didn’t have a shotgun. At that close range she would have done some damage.

        Mornin’, aus! Years ago a friend let me hold his unloaded antique Colt 45. It was so heavy I don’t see how they were used effectively in wartime. You’d really have to be a male in peak physical condition. It’s certainly not a choice for a female civilian.

    Afternoon all. Very cool this morning, but heading to 90* they said on the radio. Completely clear, blue skies with only a slight breeze.

    I had an agreement with myself that if I would get up early this morning to go to the laundromat, I could have a McDonalds egg and cheese biscuit and coffee. So, Loki and I were up and out of here and I got my laundry done.

    But, now for some reason, the brake lights are on and won’t go off. I have to figure out how to turn them off. I checked the parking brake, but that didn’t help. I am going to check the Internet first and then call somebody. Always something.

    Well, stay cool and have a nice day.

      Put your toe under the brake pedal and lift it up. I had a car with a brake pedal that stuck just slightly and left the lights on.

        Definitely will try that. I looked on the Internet and one place suggested 5 things to check, none of which I feel confident doing, but I think your suggestion would fix one of the things. I believe it is a worn out spring. But, this will give me time maybe. Thanks.
