Meme Monday – tolerance

Today, tolerance is often associated with courage, temperance, honesty, and prudence. Chesterton deplored impartiality, which he equated with indifference, but he generally applauded tolerance, which he contrasted with bigotry, unless the tolerance in question was really a mere mask for indifference. Chesterton believed that a person would rather have disagreement with someone who loved them than to be tolerated by someone with only apathy.
