Stellars, have a relaxing Tuesday visiting beautiful lakes in Europe….
Lake Geneva, Switzerland…

Lake Lagoda, Russia…

Lake Saimaa, Finland…

Lake Gaube, Pyrenees Mountains, France…

One doesn’t imagine a lake like that in Russia!
All look serene, don’t they?
LikeLiked by 2 people
Good morning, weather! Yes, serene. Lake Ladoga (misspelled in my post above) is said to be one of the purest lakes in the world. Something to do with the freezing weather binding up the minerals and impurities plus the area having much granite and charcoal which acts as a filter. The lake is a source of city drinking water for Saint Petersburg which is way west and north.
Russia is the world’s largest country in land mass but yet they have a small population. So, fewer polluters factors in, too. It’s really a very beautiful country.

Newly Released Documents Show Members of the Obama Biden Team Sought to Sabotage the Incoming Trump Administration
By Mike LaChance – July 10, 2023 9:05 pm
Newly released documents confirm what millions of Americans have believed for years now. That members of the Obama administration actively did what they could to sabotage the incoming Trump administration in 2016. People like General Flynn were targeted through the process of unmasking and more. The heavily redacted documents were obtained through a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request.

Disappointing article. Nothing but names and current positions of people who were involved in that administration.

Here’s a teensy bit better written article. Unfortunately they all are working from a minimal amount of released information.

Yes, I saw the “heavily redacted” words. We may never know…

Good day, WeeWeed! Loved Sundance’s comment the other day re Ron having a voice like a boy’s whose voice is breaking/changing.
I noted that Megyn Kelly is outraged and bemoaning the fact that Casey DeSantis is being raked over the coals. Does anyone recall whether she did the same for Melania Trump?

I don’t.

I have to agree that picking on a candidate’s wife for the way she dresses isn’t fair, whether it is Mrs. DeSantis or Mrs. Trump. I read the comments on Twitter about Casey DeSantis’ clothing and, while I may agree with them, it isn’t fair political commentary.

Like Hillary’s ankles or Jill Biden’s dresses. Not newsworthy.

That’s right. Even though I agree about Jill’s and Hillary’s fashion choices, and may talk about it with friends, I wouldn’t write a blog post about it or tweet about it to the world. I don’t claim not be catty at times.

Besides, I’m not concerned about damaging either their political careers or their husbands’ careers!

I’ll add this. If Ron DeSantis is the Republican nominee, I will vote for him, and I don’t see the upside to dirtying a potential R candidate at this point in the game by R voters. The Dems will more than do the job for us. I certainly won’t vote for Biden, or Harris, or Newsome or any other D candidate for President.

Pointing out DeSantis’ flaws is one thing, and I’m not against that, but I don’t see the point in making fun of the candidates looks, or the way he speaks, or the way his wife dresses.

People were justifiably outraged over Melanie’s treatment. The same people are certainly not showing Casey any such support.
I intend to vote for President Trump, and of course, I’m increasingly convinced that’s the right move.
But I have to tune out the big mouths because they, can’t find a kind way to express my outrage here, p*sis me off so much that I can’t listen to anything Trump.
I will flat out say to anyone that I’m basing that vote on his past accomplishments and what I believe and hope he can do, and that he’s the only choice. I cannot say his campaign or his supporters would move me in that direction at all.
And so again I say, because of that, how many votes will be left on the table?

It’s a good reminder to be a practitioner of the Golden Rule, isn’t it. Thank you for that.
In addition, however, we make judgments all the time about voices. Cary Grant had a beautiful voice. In order to get ahead, it was something he diligently worked on every day, eventually becoming the suave and upper class image which was “Cary Grant” and rid himself of the Bristol-accented and lower-class Archibald Leach.
Jordan Peterson, on the other hand does not have a beautiful voice. It’s likely remained the same throughout his adult life even though he, too, worked diligently to become the best person he could.
Yet both men are attractive because what they said, one scripted and one via his own thoughts, was/is important in communicating what they wished others to see and hear. It’s their message that is important. If that is not in place, then you have failed.
To me, DeSantis’s voice is not an asset; his script is not an asset; and only while he was using his own words was he attractive despite an odd-sounding voice. It almost seems as though a switch got turned off and he, himself, does not believe what he’s saying but continues because he wants to succeed…unfortunately not recognizing that he is failing instead. Selling out to people with money power will do that to an individual. Politics is an unclean business. The temptations are many and many succumb to the enticements.
If you wish to impress in a sincere manner, you go the extra mile in presenting an attractive package. That includes clothing. It might seem mean spirited to call out a person for seemingly inappropriate garb. But people need to know that the official business of the White House includes appropriate outfits. Remember when George Bush invited a girl’s group, perhaps a sports team, to the WH and some showed up in flip flops and were called out on such items as being against protocol. Learning what is appropriate before you get to the WH is absolutely necessary. Better people learn it now rather than later. Those criticizing could, of course, be gentler in their calling out, but the calling out itself is for the greater good.

How sweet. I remember a story about a farmer who had cows, the oldest being really cranky and mean. He had to watch out for her. And, he had a really mean bull. One day he was out in the field and broke his leg. He didn’t have a cell phone and didn’t know what he would do. He knew the bull would probably kill him. But the cranky old cow had all the cows circle around the farmer as he crawled back to the house and protected him from the bull. He figured she knew that he was the one who took care of them. I always thought that was amazing.

What a super story! Animals are so much more intelligent than we’ve thought in the past.
There are a number of stories about cows swimming to safety when they got away from slaughterhouse transports. One cow has been living for years on some island in perhaps Scandinavia. Can’t find the article now. Apparently people were concerned about her being lonely but they chose to leave her because there was plenty of grass and places to shelter if she chose. I wonder if she’s still there. Personally, I would have gotten her a companion…LOL!

Nothing better than topping off my blueberry muffin with a couple benzo’s and a mojito! Helps keep the edge off all that sugar! 😉

LEFTISTS ARGUE GOVERNMENT CENSORSHIP IS THE HIGHEST FORM OF SPEECH
By Daniel Greenfield July 10, 2023
When Judge Terry Doughty issued an injunction in Missouri v. Biden that banned the government from “specifically flagging content or posts on social-media platforms and/or forwarding such to social-media companies urging, encouraging, pressuring, or inducing in any manner for removal, deletion, suppression”, all hell broke loose.
http://www.danielgreenfield.org/2023/07/leftists-argue-government-censorship-is.html?
Note: I’d wager those same liberal acquaintances of mine who used to claim as their philosophy Voltaire’s saying, “I wholly disapprove of what you say and will defend to the death your right to say it,” now are fully into censorship of conservatives.

Afternoon all. Woke up this morning to a really ugly gray sky. It is 60* and pretty comfortable outside. I don’t know what it is going to do. I almost never notice when it rains outside.
Hope you are all safe and well.

From the Trump Save America Joint Fundraising Committee
July 11th, 2023
Bedminster, NJ — President Donald J. Trump is honored to receive endorsements from the entire Republican Congressional Delegation from Michigan.
In 2016, President Trump became the first Republican in 28 years to win Michigan in a Presidential Election, and he looks forward to working with this team to win Michigan’s 15 Electoral Votes next November.
“We’re proud to announce our full endorsement of President Donald J. Trump,” said U.S. Representatives Tim Walberg, Bill Huizenga, John Moolenaar, Jack Bergman, and Lisa McClain.
“Under the Trump presidency, America was prosperous, the economy was strong, the world was a safer place, and Michiganders were better off. President Trump has proven he has the ability to deliver results on Day One and also the ability to win in key battleground states like Michigan, being the only Republican to win a Presidential race here since 1988.”
“Under his leadership, Michigan received increased funding to protect our Great Lakes and a new lock at the Soo Locks, improving one of our most important infrastructure projects in North America. President Trump will rebuild a great American economy, unleash domestic energy, secure our border, and make America safe again.”
U.S. Representative John James added, “President Biden has wrecked our economy, let our position as the sole world power slip, and opened our borders. Biden’s policies have been particularly detrimental to Michigan’s middle-class. Under President Trump on the other hand, inflation was at 2%, the American family was strengthened through the child tax credit and other pro-family policies, and our communities were more secure. In 2024, we need to give hope to Americans who feel like their government is failing them.”
Trump 2024 Michigan Federal Leadership Team
Congressman Tim Walberg, U.S. Representative from Michigan’s 5th Congressional District
Congressman Bill Huizenga, U.S. Representative from Michigan’s 4th Congressional District
Congressman John Moolenaar, U.S. Representative from Michigan’s 2nd Congressional District
Congressman Jack Bergman, U.S. Representative from Michigan’s 1st Congressional District
Congresswoman Lisa McClain, U.S. Representative from Michigan’s 9th Congressional District
Congressman John James, U.S. Representative from Michigan’s 10th Congressional District

Good to see! We have an open Senate seat next November, so I hope we have a strong candidate (Stabenow is not running again – thank God).

What a blessing she’s not running again! Deep thinking or contemplation isn’t her strong suit.

You can say that again. She and Mazie Hirono are two that are in contention for dumbest in the Senate. Does Kamala still count?

from AT/Dunn today, re AI:
https://www.americanthinker.com/articles/2023/07/artificial_intelligence_the_facts.html
This is readable and understandable at a level at which I can recognize that he addresses the thing I have felt was crazy-making about all the AI conversation from the beginning.
The over-reactions and fears are based on a huge lack of comprehension on the part of those who are fearfully over-reacting. I have no ability to try to articulate exactly what I mean about that–which is why I’m grateful for what J. R. Dunn has researched and written.
And I also appreciate this comment, left by Joe S which brings the actual problem into view: those who DO think AI is “just like a person” have presented themselves as targets and spreaders. And we all know how that goes–post-covid.
Joe Strader
I agree with the author that General Intelligence AI may never happen. That is not the danger. The danger is that the vast majority of the people will be told that it does, that it knows better than humans what is good, and that they should turn their lives over to its decisions. The mindless drones of the Covid debacle will appear tame by comparison.
