On June 27, 1939, one of the most famous scenes in movie history is filmed: Rhett Butler and Scarlett O’Hara parting in Gone with the Wind. Director Victor Fleming also shot the scene using the alternate line, “Frankly, my dear, I just don’t care,” in case the film censors objected to the word “damn.” The censors approved the movie but fined producer David O. Selznick $5,000 for including the curse.

LOL! Maybe that’s why the French lost it to the Brits. The fortress was burned down in 1760 but reconstruction was started in 1961.

Mornin’ All. My thermometer said it ws 50* this morning, but when I went outside, it certainly was much warmer than that, especially in the sun. The temp is climbing and is now up to 65 and the sun is still on the other side of the building. The weather guessers say no rain for days. Whatever.

Following a years-long investigation into the death of Jeffrey Epstein while in custody at the Metropolitan Correctional Center (MCC) in New York City, the Justice Department’s Office of Inspector General released a scathing report on Tuesday that pointed to “significant misconduct” by Federal Bureau of Prisons (BOP) staff that led to Epstein’s suicide in 2019 and set off a flurry of conspiracy theories while depriving Epstein’s victims of the ability to seek justice in court.
