Calame must have studied in the same school as Bierstadt!
PS, Klee is one of the very few modern artists that don’t leave me weary.
Thank you Lucille ~ have a great week all!

Good day, weather! May you have a fine week also. I love Paul Klee’s work. This particular painting is entitled “Senecio” aka “Head of a Man Going Senile” and I’d love to own it….

Just noticed that I did a typo on his birth year…s/b 1879. He died at 60 of scleroderma, a terrible autoimmune affliction.

Obviously a thinker besides a doer, he was well known for his pithy sayings…this is a favorite: “A line is a dot that went for a walk.” And…“Art should be like a holiday: something to give a man the opportunity to see things differently and to change his point of view.”

My last visit was in 1999, and sunflowers were everywhere. Some people going to their wedding were carrying them. Leaving Zurich, all the fields were planted in sunflowers for miles.

How beautiful! Being among such fields would make a person smile the whole day. Thanks, czarina!

I was in Bern, SW with my VP and his wife on business. One day, she suggested we have a picnic by the lake. Being a good soldier, I volunteered to take her to the local deli. She exuberantly said “we need ham and cheese and bread for sandwiches.” The shop owner asked what type of cheese she wanted. She said well we need swiss cheese and…the owner said politely “Madam, all the cheese is Swiss.”

Here is a random fact that I heard this weekend. I confess that I never thought about it. Fact: Chickens drink water, but they don’t pee. All waste goes out in one mass.

It’s American Craft Beer Week. Today is International Kangaroo Care Awareness day, which is less applicable to any of us. But it is also Chocolate Chip Appreciation Day.

Mornin’ All. It is a wonderful 57* here, sunny with a blue sky and slight breeze. Another beautiful day.

I saw 3 or 4 cop cars this morning circling the apartment complex. Wonder what was going on. I am not sure I have seen more than one or two cops since I have been here.

Well, I have decided I need to renew my lease here and find a way to make it work. I am going to try to get the part of the rent removed that is for Loki. And, I am going to try to get my pet deposit back since I now have a note from my doctor for Loki as a comfort animal. I may have a fight on my hands. Any suggestions would be appreciated. I am not really good at standing up and fighting, unless it is for my son, DIL, and grandkids. Then you better stay out of my way.

Hope you all have a nice day.

If you’re not a fighter, just be persistent. Doggedly persistent. And nice. Always good to have similar case history at hand as support. Good luck, mom!

Good luck! I hope that your decision gives your peace. I know that something that is hanging always gives me anxiety.

Well, I made the decision on Sat. and I immediately felt a weight lifted. I can manage if I can get them to remove the pet charge from my rent amount and return my pet deposit which was very large.

But, I saw an ad this morning on Craigslist for a house locally that the rent is supposed to be $650. I was tempted to call, but that is about half or less than what they can get for a house like that, so I am pretty sure it is one of those scams. Also, one of the clues to a scam is that the phone number is out of town. But, if you think about it, that really isn’t a very good clue since so many people move around and cell phones can have a number from anywhere. Mine is a number from Florida.

If you can make things work there for another year, you will have time to look for a different rental the next time your lease is up for renewal.

That is what I am thinking. I was looking before, but seemed to just be going in circles finding the same places over and over. Besides, I had so many things to do after I got here. I also will check on a way to break the lease if something I really want and can’t wait on comes along.

Sadly, Craigslist has been corrupted by bad players. I’m thinking your church members could be the most reliable source – someone’s gotta know someone…! Eventually?
Last year’s last-minute blessing [where you are] cannot be forgotten, but I do sympathize with your situation. Prayers here, mom! 😊

Good day to you, aus! We’re at 82 degrees and it’s beautiful out…not too hot and not too cool. Wish I could go to one of the nearby lakes. Be a great day on the water.

Glad you’re making the decision to stay in place since looking for a new residence can be stressful. I’ll be praying about the dog fees negotiation. I doubt they will return the deposit but, frankly, the likelihood that Loki would do such terrible damage that you’re charged a fee each month is ridiculous. The original deposit should cover anything. My opinion is that you shouldn’t ask for anything other than the removal of the monthly fee since Loki is such a good girl.

My duplex neighbor is moving at the end of May into her new mobile home. I certainly hope a nice quiet but friendly person like her moves in. Plus my pals in the next duplex from mine are moving into a house in a senior complex.

      Keep your sunny side up!

My FIL had one set of neighbors move out, and the next set has been really nice – better, actually, as they’re full-time residents. So, it is possible!
I’d love to be on one of those lakes with you, Lucille!!😉
