Mornin’ All. It is finally sort of cold here this morning. I wore a sweatshirt for our walk at 8:30 and I was still too cool until we had gone most of the way around the second time. Loki didn’t seem to care. But, it is sunny and very nice outside.
Guess today I will unpack more boxes. I am tired of looking at them, wondering where things I can’t find are, and moving them around looking for things. Better that I just open them all up. Besides, there are things that I brought with me that, if I had had more time before we left, I would have taken them to Good Will or something. And, there will be a rummage sale at the church this coming weekend and I can take things there. So, I need to find more to take.

In the general deterioration of New Orleans, from which a few years ago came the reclassification of several types of assaults to much lower levels of importance, now response levels for some types of calls have been changed from “emergencies” to less urgent status. Now aggravated rapes (a weapon was used during the crime), armed robberies, carjackings, aggravated assaults, and domestic disturbances are being shifted from high to low priority before the police even arrive.
In a possibly related story, signatures are being actively collected at “signing events” held daily across the city to recall the Democratic Mayor.

It’s a sure bet if the mayor was assaulted, raped, robbed, or carjacked she’d demand any one of those crimes be elevated to top priority.
Lefties like her have long since forgotten or perhaps never known, “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.”
