      Ours brought 2 rabbits, 1 gopher, 1 [possibly 2] mice last week. He’s pulling most from our vegetable garden. Sleeps days!! One bunny was huge…he ate the head then fell asleep. All he brings thru 2 cat doors then the whole length of the house to our shower floor. Pretty handy for clean-up, as it goes.

      When I lived in L.A. a very handsome black shorthair cat with lovely green eyes started living in our fenced-in backyard which at the time had large bushes, a tree and lots of ivy. After checking around the neighborhood I discovered no one was missing such a cat. So I let him live in our backyard and left food out for him. I also named him Tobias Jeremiah or “Toby” for short.

      One day Toby presented me with a very large rat when I took out his daily dry cat food. While he was eating in the patio enclosure, I smuggled the rat outside and threw it in the trash. When he finished his dry food, he came out and looked all over for that rat. Poor little darling…I should have let him eat it, but didn’t want to get an ant infestation on the patio.

      Toby remained mostly an outdoor cat but I occasionally let him in on the weekends during the day although my older male cat, Bob Burns, didn’t like that one bit. Even though I continued to feed Toby and he probably continued catching rats, he began to get rather skinny. I took him to the vet and found that he had advanced cancer. After all these years I still think of Toby and how beautiful and sweet-natured he was. Just a little love.

    Oh Stella, I just love the Caturday portrait. I knew it was a Maine Coon! I want one so much. Just don’t want to pay $4,000 for one. Know any farmers in Maine who’d like to send me one?
