Another film, this time for Monday Night Movietime…
THE BEST YEARS OF OUR LIVES (1946), a melodrama which won 7 awards at the 1947 Academy Awards including Best Picture. Some really wonderful and touchingly emotional scenes will stick in your memory for quite a while. Stars Fredric March, Myrna Loy, Dana Andrews, Teresa Wright, Virginia Mayo. All the cast is excellent including Harold Russell who had never acted before on film.

Thanks, weather! Have a box of Kleenex at the ready, weather. I love this movie and have no idea how many times I’ve seen it, somewhere around 20 times, the first time being when it was released on TV in the late 1950s or perhaps during the 60s. And I bought a VHS copy when it came out years ago.
After you view the film, if you’d like to read a review of the story plot, acting, and the entire production, there’s an excellent article at: http://www.reelclassics.com/Movies/BestYears/bestyears.htm

Apparently emus can be quite stubborn. I read that they can be tamed if obtained young enough, but they are always unpredictable as are their cousins, the ostriches.
Yesterday when I was watching the live camera feed from the Namib Desert, I saw a group of oryx at the watering hole when four ostriches ran through the distant background. All the oryx stopped drinking and watched the ostriches until they were out of sight. I don’t know if that was coincidence or whether ostriches are known to be troublesome by their fellow creatures. It does appear, however, that “trouble” is another middle name for both emus and ostriches. LOL!
Here’s an article on these two flightless birds….

Yes it is! With all of the terrible news that we are bombarded with every day, the good things are often shuffled to the wayside. A favorite hymn of mine came to mind when I read your comment (I prefer this version, which I learned as a child):

This is an excellent Jan 6 video. I hadn’t seen it before, had you? The captions explain well what is going on:

MOST INTERESTING! Haven’t seen it previously, but did hear about the magnetic doors being opened from the inside by someone likely in the capital police. Your average citizen wouldn’t have a clue how to open the doors from inside. So, basically, entrance into the building was a set-up to entrap Trump supporters for” insurrection” and thus him for “incitement.”
Under no circumstances will the powers-that-be on the January 6th committee farce stand back and see President Trump re-elected in 2024. As you know, that’s what the committee is all about–getting rid of Trump. I wouldn’t put it past them to eliminate any conservative who wins the 2024 nomination.

Mornin’ All. Another crazy weekend. My car wouldn’t start when I was on my way to my oldest Granddaughters b-day on Sat. My son came and got it started, a man thing, I guess. When it was time to come home, it wouldn’t start even for him. it was too far to drive me home and then come back to get me on Sun. for my middle granddaughter’s b-day. Also, for church. So I stayed overnight again. Slept in the nude and had to wear dirty clothes to church again. I am going to pack a bag and leave it at their house. They said I would need to do that in the winter anyway. My sunburn is pealing and I think I will lose another layer. It was that bad. Glad it is only my arms and the tops of my hands. Oh, and I needed a new battery which my son installed.
It has been cool at night and unbearably hot during the middle of the day. Everyone says this won’t last long, maybe a couple of weeks. Let’s hope. It is gray and overcast today, and raining. The maintenance man just came by to fix the toilet, which wasn’t screwed down. He fixed it. He said he comes from Arizona and was tired of the heat and that the only problem here is the number of gray days. He is a really, really nice man. Very professional and polite.
I hate to complain, but I just can’t seem to catch up. I am still tired. Of course, it was a busy weekend and what seemed like a long drive back last night. Well, when I say night, it was about 7:45 when I left. It is a half-hour or so drive. But, it stays light until 10:30.
Well, have a nice day, wherever you are. 🙂

Great statistical illustration! The U.S. now owes over 28 times one trillion with no end in sight seeing as Biden continues to give away our money. Collapse is inevitable.
