        I remember that race well! Nic Petit (pa-TEE) had about a two hour lead near Koyuk, and followed a popular snowmachine path between villages instead of staying on the race trail. He lost his lead and Joar took over and won the race. Iditarod truly ain’t over till it’s over. Even at the last minute, things can happen. Thanks Weather! And did you see my recommendation the other night for a book called Winterdance: The Fine Madness of Running the Iditarod? I really think you’d enjoy it. I’ve read it several times and still laugh so hard my sides ache. Available on Amazon.
