Just getting here. Had to get up early to get new tires put on my Ford, but the wrong tires were sent, so I was very early for my dermatologist appt. Now that’s done.

Good afternoon everybody. Cold and sunny here today. I’m putting away the Christmas decorations for another year. Thinking about seed starting for some of the slow plants, like herbs. I have some basil cuttings in water to root and pot.

Yes, herbs are always on our back porch. Basil of course, catnip of course. Thyme and marjoram and oregano, but I really don’t use them much since I cook so unimaginatively.

Marjoram is great in chicken dishes. I use oregano in both Mexican and Greek dishes. Thyme gets used all the time in stews and chicken soup.

PS: Anything on my “back porch” or patio would be dead by now, except for chives, which will reappear in spring.
