I like her sidekicks too! Fun people. Her recipes are pretty good too. I’m going to try her hummus.

I told a friend, and the next time we meet we are going to make it from her video.

Haven’t watched this yet, but Stella, are you into the old British cooking channels?
I have become hooked watching the Pluto channels, which are mostly old tv shows from the 70s to early 2000s, and they are showing all the old cooking shows that used to be shown without all the political bs.
Anyways, baklava always meant sweet to me – nuts, sugar, etc – and hummus is not my cup of tea, but thanks for the vid, will give it a try sans hummus.

I’ve watched some British cooking shows, but more recent. Mary Berry (she’s been around for years), Paul Hollywood, Royal Recipes. I also watch British history shows. Have you ever watched the The Victorian Way series from English Heritage? Victorian cooking in a great house.

Will have to look them up. Been staying away from youtube as much as possible. Pluto is my current obsession, but Pluto doesn’t have much of the new stuff, but it does have a ton of old British stuff.
It’s either look for oddities on the other inet (it’s not all bad stuff) or continue with my pity party, and I loved the old British romance novels (audiobooks for me). The descriptions of British life 2-4 centuries ago were amazing. They covered cooking a bit, too.
So many places to go, people to see, so little time…

Stella,
It’s late but I wanted to say, it did make me smile. Refika seems to truly enjoy creating the videos in her delightfully breezy style.

I like this one, although we don’t have all the same ingredients here. Maybe if you have a Middle Eastern grocery nearby.

We have many middle eastern sources here, although I haven’t yet looked into it.
