What is this Autumn you speak of? Those trees are all yellow. They look like they need some water. I have noticed that it has cooled off here. We are down to 75* from the regular 79* in the mornings.

It’s 63 here right now. I wish I’d thought to check this morning. Going to get down to 48 tonight. Fall is officially here.

68* this morning, currently 70*with strong breezes. Washed the bedding and hung it out to dry in the sun (my favorite). Opened all the windows and doors. Tomorrow is predicted to start out in the low 50’s. Was going to mow today, but we got 2 1/2” rain in 30 minutes last night and the yard is soggy. So I’m house cleaning and making lasagna.

Our rain was supposed to be over last night, but we got about an hour of hard downpour this morning. Now our yard is soggier. Probably won’t be fit to mow until this weekend, although occasionally my husband gets disgusted with it and uses all that muscle to mow when it’s soggy. We have a small yard now and he doesn’t need a riding mower. Patience is not in his top 100 virtues when he wants something done. 😀

To get all scientific about it…LOL! Actually, it’s quite fascinating why trees change color.
“The yellow colour seen in some autumn trees results from the loss of chlorophyll simply unmasking the yellow carotinoids that were there all along. But red coloration comes from a pigment called anthocyanin, which has to be made afresh as autumn takes hold.”

Ha, ha. I was referring to the fact that just about the only way they turn yellow down here is if they aren’t getting enough water.

Good afternoon, aus! It’s a so-so day today with the sun trying to peek out and not quite succeeding. High of 72 degrees.
Miss Bee and Mr. Gee are having to live a boring life along with mine. A minute or two ago Gee was playing with an old pair of knit gloves, throwing them up in the air. Wish I could make my porch into a catio for them both so they could get some outdoor stimulus.

Just like now all the racists are hopping mad that Gabby Petito got publicity for being missing and minorities don’t.
