White House Releases List of 143 Trump Pardons and Commutations

WHITE HOUSE

President Donald J. Trump granted pardons to 73 individuals and commuted the sentences of an additional 70 individuals.

Stephen K. Bannon is included:

President Trump granted a full pardon to Stephen Bannon. Prosecutors pursued Mr. Bannon with charges related to fraud stemming from his involvement in a political project. Mr. Bannon has been an important leader in the conservative movement and is known for his political acumen.

Julian Assange is not on the list. He certainly deserved it more than Kwame Kilpatrick.

A man who deserved to be sent to prison is Kwame Kilpatrick, former mayor of Detroit, and he has had his sentence commuted:

President Trump commuted the sentence of the former Mayor of Detroit, Kwame Malik Kilpatrick. This commutation is strongly supported by prominent members of the Detroit community, Alveda King, Alice Johnson, Diamond and Silk, Pastor Paula White, Peter Karmanos, Representative Sherry Gay-Dagnogo of the Michigan House of Representatives, Representative Karen Whitsett of the Michigan House of Representatives, and more than 30 faith leaders. Mr. Kilpatrick has served approximately 7 years in prison for his role in a racketeering and bribery scheme while he held public office. During his incarceration, Mr. Kilpatrick has taught public speaking classes and has led Bible Study groups with his fellow inmates.

It’s sad that Brian Kolfage didn’t receive a pardon along with Steve Bannon.

Well, thankfully I am not on this list. Because that would imply I was on some other list I was unaware of.
