Adams wrote:

“It will bring an everlasting mark of infamy on the present generation, enlightened as it is, if we should suffer [our liberties] to be wrested from us by violence without a struggle, or be cheated out of them by the artifices of false and designing men.”

    Sam Adams and Patrick Henry were always my two favorite patriots. I always like the rabble rousers. Franklin the statesman, Jefferson with his staggering intellect, George Washington, with his military leadership and then presidency, they might never have had the jobs to do without the pure hell raising of men such as Adams.
