The Old New Orleans lives. Very early Sunday morning a city councilman, allegedly drunk, jumped the median on a major downtown street and head-on smacked another car. Councilman was driving his city-issued SUV with, witnesses say, his blue lights on. Police said he appeared intoxicated, ‘did poorly on field sobriety tests’ and refused a breathalyzer (immediate suspension of his licence).

Issue tome is: why do city councilmembers have blue lights and sirens? They’re supposed to be reserved for emergency 1st responders and we have to take courses in using them and driving before we’re allowed to use lights and siren and we had limits on not only when we could use them but how much over the posted speed limit we could go with them on. We certainly couldn’t use them for clearing traffic after a night of partying.

This one’s going to cost the city, tort lawyers will probably have accidents trying to get to the victim, but unless someone pushes really hard I don’t see the city pols giving up their lights and sirens.

Whew! Hot and humid already! Wish I had a summer home up near Stella and Lovely, or in the mountains of Idaho like Lucille!

Mornin’ Czarina. Hope you are doing better. I don’t have a second home in the mountains, I just have an air conditioner. Not quite the same, but it will have to do.

Don’t believe her – she complains when the AC takes the house temp below 95.

I’d invite ya to come up for a visit, Czarina, as it is drop dead gorgeous here today–sunny, light breeze, temps in the high 50s/low 60s, and mountains out all over the place. But everyone coming into Alaska has to quaranteen for two weeks, which will kill the tourist trade this summer. This madness gotta end!

Good afternoon, czarina! Lots of homes for sale in the county… https://www.realtor.com/realestateandhomes-search/Kootenai-County_ID

Prices have definitely gone way up from where they were in 2016 when I moved to the Panhandle. But even the cheapest house is 1/10th of what it would cost in southern California if you could even find a comparable. You’d think with economic times so bad in CA that real estate (or rents) would go way down. Not happening.

I would have moved there in a heartbeat, I’ve mentioned my love of Hayden Lakes and Coeur d’Alene…not so much for Boise though. Then again there’s that issue of temperatures below 75 degrees that bothers You Know Who. The panhandle has to be one of THE most beautiful places on earth.

We were supposed to get rain, but it’s warm an sunny here. It can get hot and humid here easily, but we get enough cold in the winter that we appreciate it.

Good day, y’all (or has “y’all” been banned from use)! I wake up to find that the Supreme Court has gone full batty. Lotta people are mad, but what’s the next move? For one, we MUST win back the House, Re-elect our President, and retain the Senate. Then, perhaps, someone will have the guts to hold hearings on what “sex” means.

A story I’ve never heard before…not in any of my schooling, not in reading about civil rights, not in listening to speeches at PEACEFUL gatherings, not even when other Republican Presidents were in office. In fact we seldom read about President Chester Arthur at all…

Ok I’ll have to give it a read. All I’ve known about old Chet is that he was corrupt as heck. As tax assessor for NYC (or something like that) he raked in graft $$ with both hands.

Good day to you, Tundra. Us humans can certainly mess up. it seems that if a person doesn’t succumb to one sin he often does to another.

Just trying to keep the faith and individually do our part to hold the wolves at bay is a challenge. I’m praying that we all stay strong in the face of everything trying to make us weak.

Oast history is only selectively used by the social engineers, they prefer more recent history that much of the audience has some knowledge/familiarity with. Using the audiences knowledge they can reformulate that history to meet their needs. The audience has some familiarity with what’s being presented but usually not enough to counter what the revisionist’s saying, groupthink finishes the process.
