    Done gots muh haircut today, my barber with the 1950sish store has a ‘one in-one out’ policy. There’s a ‘must wear a mask’ policy by the barber’s union and folks waiting have to sit in their cars though there’s one chair on the porch.

    Home Depot’s got a ‘so many people in the store at one time’ policy soI just drove by. I ordered online for curbside pickup, that turned into a goat rope, but we’ll deal with that tomorrow. I can’t figure out how they expect a person to go in-and-out at a Home Depot, you’d have to pack a lunch. I’ll get the hardware at a local store, they have a better appreciation of folk’s common sense.

    New York City Council is considering a bill that would halt rent collections, evictions, taking and restitution of property or the executions of and money judgements during the declared COVID panic-period. Sheriffs and marshalls would be prevented from conducting any court ordered evictions and debt collections during the pandemic and would give renters/debtors extra time to pay back arrears.

    If you don’t know how the sheriffs work in this situation – they enforce orders from the county and state courts, not city. The NYC City Council is passing a bill that would tell LEA not under their control to not enforce orders from courts not under the city’s control. Were a sheriff’s deputy or marshall not enforce the court’s order then the court could find the deputy/marshall in contempt and jail him/her. There’s also the very real option of charging the LEA who followed the city’s dictate with dereliction, jail him/her and fire them as well as imprison said deputy(s).

    Now I believe there’s zero chance that any sheriff or chief marshall would follow the city’s order, it has about as much real power over them as were you or I to tell them not to enforce a court order but it shows just how arrogant and out of control government’s getting. It also points out why power hungry martinets like Biden’s son want to do away with sheriffs nationwide and instead bring the county land and its smaller cities under the political and physical control of the largest city in that county. The sheriffs refusing to enforce questionably unconstitutional laws only heightened the issue.

    Watch the ‘no rent’ movement too, it’s a deep-Left movement that’s surfacing in major cities. It’s starting with demanding rents during the pandemic be either forgiven – the property owner eats them – or spread out over a longer period of time though the property owner gets no relief from his/her payments due on taxes et al. It’s a branch of the movement that wants city government to set minimum standards for rental property, inspect regularly to ensure all city ‘standards’ are being met or closing the property and fining the owner, and also set maximum rent levels while giving renters more control over their living conditions. It’s rearing its ugly head in NOLA too as the city’s poor found their digs flooded and property owners taking their Katrina money and building better housing that has higher rents. That big chunk of the city that can’t afford the higher rents on Section 8 payments is out sweating trying to get more free stuff instead of better jobs. If you can’t raise the floor…

    This pandemic may just gut a huge chunk of the private property segment of our economy, there’s a growing segment that can’t seem to get with the program and want government to change the game plan…you gonna eat that last pork chop or can I have it, I’m entitled to it.

    Good morning everyone. Into the weekend. Which, for me and most other Americans right now looks just like our week.

    I really wish people would be careful and sensible about social distancing and safety so we can really be over this. If I have to listen to the I told you so’s on re-opening I’m going to have to be bailed out.

    You know, the stupid corona just might do what nothing else can. I might go find me a pew in a nice Baptist or Methodist church. My fellow Catholics have utterly convinced me on Facebook that they are snobbish asshats who will drink government kool aid and proclaim it to be champagne. I don’t even want to sit in church with them right now.

    And finally, I had to read a bit about the Ghanian pall bearers. Be sure to watch this short video. I am unsure whether my priest, who absolutely loves ritual and ceremony, would also dance or have a stroke. I’m leaning kinda toward the dance though.

    Mornin’ everyone. Just sunny and clear here. I didn’t get up until 10:00. I went to bed about midnight and my neighbors woke me up making noises. Very unusual. I don’t usually hear anything unless it is really loud………..or they bang things around. I thought they might be packing up to move. It went on until around 4:30 and I finally fell asleep. I expected to see a big truck out front this morning or their car gone. Nope. No truck. And, the car is in its usual space. I just hope this isn’t their new way of living. 🙄

    And, I filled out my IRS info and …………ta da……………nothing. Maybe they think I get too much money even though my rent is about a third of it. 🙄

    Seen on Facebook. I agree with a lot of this.

    When we started the lockdown, we were doing it to “flatten the curve”… which meant to reduce the SPEED at which people caught the virus, so we wouldn’t overwhelm our health care system with too many patients ALL AT THE SAME TIME.

    In that oft-repeated instruction, it is implicit that we are going to catch the disease, and that preventing us from catching the disease was not the goal. No, it was all about controlling how many people caught the disease AT THE SAME TIME.

    Now we see we were WILDLY successful at controlling the number of people who had the disease at the same time. Hospitals were so far from being overwhelmed, many are now firing and laying off doctors and staff, and some are at risk of being CLOSED due to too few patients.

    SUCCESS! But… no.

    Now, you can’t get a straight story out of the leaders. They seem to want us to believe that we are doing this so that people don’t get the virus AT ALL. But they don’t say that straight out.

    Neither do they say anymore that we are trying to flatten the curve so we don’t overwhelm our health care system. They seem to know that the public is aware the hospitals are empty. The Navy ship Comfort left New York after treating a grand total of 79 patients. After all the dire stories on the news about Samaritan’s Purse putting up the tent hospital in Central Park “like a war zone” blah blah blah, they took it down again and drove off, as far as I know without treating a single patient (I could be wrong, but it wasn’t very many).

    All the dire warnings have proven wrong as wrong can be. But we’re told we still need this, whatever we’re doing.

    We are NOT told explicitly WHY.

    We were, at the beginning, told why. But now it seems to be a sort of effort to get us to believe something without actually saying it… and the something is, that if we keep this up, we can STOP the virus from spreading. That we are trying NOT TO CATCH the virus, and that it is POSSIBLE to not catch the virus.

    First, it’s not possible. Second, it isn’t DESIRABLE. There is only one way we take the teeth out of it, and that’s herd immunity, which you get by CATCHING it, and not by NOT catching it.

    But herd immunity doesn’t make somebody a billion dollars selling a vaccine. And herd immunity doesn’t give the vaccine people the chance to put a micro mark on you (Bill Gates has come up with this as a part of his vaccination plan) to show that you have had the vaccine… which can then be used as a digital permit for you to participate in daily life. Lack of the mark means you don’t get to go to the mall, the ball game, the GROCERY STORE… because without the precious vaccine, you might be carrying the VIRUS, citizen!

    I don’t want to know how a person might eat and live and function in a society where he was digitally denied access to the places and things that are the core of daily life. I suspect that it is SUPPOSED to be enormously difficult.

    Bible believers might see the Mark of the Beast in this, and they wouldn’t be far wrong. But even without a prophetic religious component, there is no end to the danger that lies in elite leadership having constant digital tracking of every person, and inclusion or exclusion in every part of life as the result of obedience or disobedience to the leadership.

    They are pulling us along in the confines of the original plan, but are no longer referring to that plan in their daily talk. But they haven’t laid out the new plan either. There is no plan, apparently, in the minds of the leadership right now, other than to keep us away from self-reliance and independence for as long as they possibly can.

    Further in support of the idea that they’re holding out for a vaccine is their reluctance to embrace hydroxychloroquine. Fauci gave a presser yesterday excited about the antiviral drug that reduced the disease from 15 to 11 days, saying it was “proof of concept”. Chloroquine’s better than that, and the leadership just won’t get behind it.

    Because if the severity of the illness were greatly reduced and fewer people died from it, we could come out and go about our business, crisis over. Nobody gets rich and nobody controls anybody. A wasted crisis.

    I want to know what is the point and purpose of us remaining locked in right NOW, now that the hospitals are empty and laying off doctors, proving the rapid spread is not that rapid and the steps we took to prevent an overload of the medical system WORKED.

    What is the new plan, now that the old plan worked?

    Anyone?

      The plan is continuing on accomplishing the tasks the globalist/liberals set in motion. I believe this was all planned for this time and Pres. Trump has only been able to thwart some of it. Maybe he will stop all of it at some point. But, the globalist/liberals want us all marked and controlled. This was just another step.

      That’s good overview stuff, Stella – just makes me crazy. One of the things I’ve noticed as well is that there is almost no information about what “the medical industry” is doing to actually treat early-developing cases. It’s like there are two speeds, “Flatten the curve!” and “We have to put Grandma on a Ventilator and none of you can see her any more. Ever.”

      I know that I haven’t invested the effort to absorb everything that is being said on all sides, but it sure seems that there is no consistency, there is no problem-solving, and there is no cumulative learning curve on the part of the medical “professionals”..

      It seems they want to talk a lot about the death numbers, and why they are increasing and extending restrictions. Reminds me of the fifth grade hall monitors yelling, “No running!”

        It’s unsettling and unnerving, actually. I remember feeling that way on 9/11, and in the days following with the bailouts, talk about forgiving mortgages etc. Suddenly it seems like all the rules are changing, and I don’t know why.

      And, I would suspect that anyone who has lived through even most of that would be able to handle this disease, however they might decide to of their own accord.

    If you’re looking for a good movie (though a tad on the depressing side) to watch this weekend and haven’t seen this one before, I recommend the black and white film…ON THE BEACH (1959) starring Gregory Peck, Ava Gardner, Tony Perkins, Fred Astaire

    Good copy. Superb acting, script, direction. I’ve seen it probably 10 times over the years. There is one scene where the Peck and Gardner characters are standing on a pier and the sun is sparkling off the water around them which is absolutely beautiful.
