    Mornin’ everyone. Somebody told me yesterday we may get some rain tomorrow. That is if tomorrow is Wednesday. Hard to tell. :\ I watched the Coronavirus briefing yesterday up until that blond bitch started arguing with the President, and interrupting him. After a little, I knew I had to turn it off or start drinking. She is getting more emboldened every day.

    Saw a headline on Google this morning asking if Governor Half Whitmer had gone too far with her latest stay at home order and saying that people were planning a drive-in protest in Lansing. I don’t know if this is upset with the order in general with entitled people who think that they have the right to travel to their vacation houses (and put additional stress on smaller communities and chew up resources that the locals in those communities might want), or people who are upset that they can’t plant their gardens. But apparently Common Core doesn’t teach the laws of cause and effect – if Half Whitmer had half a brain, she would have clamped down on traveling to vacation homes in the first order.

    On the plus side, it was nice to see (I think it was two days ago that I saw this? It was recent:) that Michigan is no longer number 3 in the US for ChiComVid-19 cases. I guess I don’t understand why once everyone in Michigan was informed that it’s not vacation time and you better stay home, the spread of ChiComVid-19 kind of stalled out up there. It’s almost like these travelers were spreading it around or something when they were on the go.

    Weird.

    Yesterday, for the umpteenth time, I watched “The Tamarind Seed” made in 1974. though the clothes don’t seem totally out of date. The acting is superb along with the plot, script, scenery, everything…even the clothese don’t seem all that out of date. Starring Julie Andrews and Omar Sharif. If you haven’t seen the film, it’s a MUST.

    At the finish I got curious about when Sharif died and ran across some interesting info about him and his family, some of which I already knew such as his being Lebanese…but didn’t know he had Alzheimer’s…sad.

    “Omar Sharif (4/10/31 – 7/10/15), whose adopted surname means “noble” or “nobleman”, was born Michel Dimitri Chalhoub in Alexandria, Kingdom of Egypt (now Arab Republic of Egypt), to a Melkite Catholic family of Lebanese descent. He belonged to a small ethno religious minority known as the Antiochian Greek Christians of Egypt (Rum Katuleek), an offshoot of the Greek Orthodox Church of Antioch.

    “His father, Joseph Chalhoub, a precious woods merchant, moved to the port city of Alexandria in the early 20th century from Zahle in Lebanon. His family moved to Cairo when he was four. His mother, Claire Saada was also from Zahle in Lebanon. She was a noted society hostess, and Egypt’s King Farouk was a regular visitor prior to his deposition in 1952.

      First paragraph…my proofreading ability is greatly lacking. In changing where I wanted the info about the wardrobe, I failed to remove where it was originally. Dope!

      These increasing incidents of typos and forgetting to proofread actually quite annoy me since accuracy was once one of the skills for which I received high praise. Nothing to be done about it except to be more vigilant. Perhaps I should take the advice I’m always giving others and just let it go or use the senile card. LOL!

        Honey, what I have learned is you have to work at it. What flows out quickly may have errors, so I have to set myself to proofread. Remember proofreading backwards to catch spelling errors? Don’t try to do two things at once, it is actually not possible to multitask. Accept the errors which happen sometimes, then double down if it makes you feel better to have fewer errors. Finally, we understand…

      Isn’t he handsome? I loved him in Dr. Zhivago too. Julie Christie was divine as well.

    Latest on refrigerator. It’s the thermostat. Part is ordered, and will be installed tomorrow afternoon. In the meantime, if I bang on the place where the temp dial is, the frig starts working. Who knew? Total price, installed with warranty, is $278.

    I have a big PILE of scarves (many of them very nice). Now that Dr. Birx is popularizing scarves again, perhaps I will have a chance to wear mine. Of course, I don’t know how they will look with sweats.
