   If bureaucrats artificially overestimate the numbers they have a a cushion to work with if the numbers dospike. They also have a self-stroke if the numbers don’t get that high, they can claim credit for their heroic efforts to keep the numbers down.

   They’re politicians, they don’t know much about anything and, as such, can’t trust the experts they hire. We survive by what they do, to a degree, but we survive mostly by our own efforts.

   A couple days ago, Democrats and their media allies had a full-blown Victorian gentleman–style cow when President Trump merely raised the question of whether New York hospitals, which are short on personal protective equipment, might be victims of medical equipment “going out the back door.”
