Coronavirus Q&A:

Good info. Thanks. The trouble is when the Media put on a doctor with his hair on fire to work eveyone up again…

And you were just reading what from a corporate site?

The hysteria was driven by the media looking for exposure. The doctors picked it up as they were forced into the fray but they’re being puppeteered by lawyers who’re watching their every word for a chance to file suit. It’s reality programming for the bored and uninspired.

BTW, how many of these hand-wringing worry warts had their flu shots this year?

I did, but then I’m not a hand-wringing worry wart.

2019-2020 figures aren’t in yet but 2018-2019 figures show that about 37% of the population got the shot, down from about 42% previously. To me that means some 63% of the population should tone down the ‘woe be us’ whining. If they don’t bother to protect themselves from the flu why the big whoop over the government not jumping thru its butt to protect them from the coronavirus?

Let’s see how it works but I found a systemic insecticide that works on fruit trees. As most of ours are still young I’m trying to mitigate the damages to their growth without spraying wildly and taking out beneficial insects. If this works I’ll have a way of saving the leaves without taking out insects we need. It’s supposed to be safe to put on trees that are bearing edible fruit too but I ain’t ready to go that far yet.

Czarina reminds me that this post is here and, contextually, should be elsewhere. As I can’t move it I’ll just chalk it up to mixing insecticides and herbicides without a proper mask as they’ve all been bought out by coronavirus paranoids. There, Czarina, a tie-in.

Ok so the dismount wasn’t spectacular but the recovery will be talked about for years to come!
Two thumbs up.

It makes me angry to think that so much of this misinformation is being put out on purpose for political reasons.

“We fly through the dirtiest airports, we touch everyone we meet…”
Does anyone believe this nonsense? If they do I have a bridge to sell them. Of course, the good doctor is dead wrong. I do not look to Congress for accurate information. I’d have better luck getting honest info from a newspaper horoscope.
I do appreciate his shooting down the “we have this contained” nonsense. It ain’t contained, and I doubt it will be. Quarantine is a good idea as much as possible, but with a 14-28 day incubation period, infected people are walking petri dishes for two weeks before they get diagnosed.

I worry about kids being brought up in the modern germ-o-phobic houses. Expose to pathogens is necessary to develop a healthy immune system – one of the reasons we have an oral polio vaccine is scientists noticed that some people living in areas where it existed caught it at a lesser rate as they ended up ingesting small amounts through not washing their hands – you know, like some of those kids who work at fast food shops.
The docs are also worried that folks continually exposing germs to the weaker hand sanitizers may cause the germs to mutate to accept large amounts of alcohol with a minimal effect – like some members of my family.

I knew a gentleman who I was informed was often sick for that reason – he was such a germophobe, he wasn’t able to build up his immune system.

I like to think my time in Asia and Africa has made me close to invulnerable. Those germs take a bite and are soundly bitten back.

This is why I made mine eat with their hands, silverware’s for whimps was our motto.

Sounds like a good idea, hands are the original silverware. Would have made our family dinners easier too, I had two kids I didn’t trust with fighting tools.

I believe that was Matt Gaetz who said that.
