I assume that this was leaked from the “off-the-record” remarks at today’s luncheon with news anchors. Anyway, I’m happy that he will honor Rush in this way.
President Trump said war with Iran was “closer than you thought” and that he plans to award the Presidential Medal of Freedom to conservative talk-show host Rush Limbaugh, in a nearly two-hour lunch with television anchors at the White House on Tuesday, according to people familiar with the conversation.
Over celery soup, fish and coconut macaroons, the president spoke at length about Mr. Limbaugh, who said Monday he is being treated for advanced lung cancer, the people said. Mr. Trump said he had invited Mr. Limbaugh to his State of the Union address, but that Mr. Limbaugh might not be able to attend. The president has praised Mr. Limbaugh on Twitter as a “major star” and a “great guy who truly gets it.”
In on-the-records remarks:

I think it was yesterday that I saw on Twitter people saying the Pres Trump should invite Rush to the SOTU. I’m glad Rush was invited and I hope he is able to attend.

It would be nice, but doubtful. I wonder if Nigel Farage will be there?

When you look at the laundry list of less-than-desirables that Obama graced with national accolades it’s a fresh breath of air to honor Rush. I also think Rush’s being honored was a purposeful leak but it doesn’t look like the Democrats took the bait…either way it’s a good call.

I don’t think it was intentionally leaked for two reasons. One, those who reported on the luncheon at first
leakedreported those things that were on the record. This wasn’t. Second, there was also a leak of Trump’s remarks about Iran. I don’t think he would want that reported in the press.LikeLiked by 1 person
I think this is a great idea.
