Ga-raun-tee you that ain’t one of our dogs. It’s 39, 20 mph wind straight outta the north and about 75% humidity – the dogs go out long enough to get business done and they rite back inside.

Yep, it is 30 here, and breezy. Dogs are able to be quite fast outside, instead of their usual stroll to the pond, the trees, checking out scents in the field out back. Riley, the black lab, still refuses to drink city water unless forces. He goes down to the little stream to get his water, or over to the pond. My husband thinks he hates the chlorine in the water, and he’s probably right. Riley drank well water his whole life long.

Many cities, without telling the citizens, douse their water with a number of ‘harmless’ chemicals to make it taste better and cover the chlorine or any tastes coming from its source. I didn’t know that until, waaaay back, NOLA won 1st and 2nd place in a national municipal; ‘water taste’ test.
It appears the municipal water people have a bund and they get together to tell water stories and taste each other’s product. A lot of plants play with pH and tastes by dousing their water with chemicals and adjusting the taste to something less offensive.
As NOLA gets its water from the nether end of 1800 miles of agricultural and industrial sewer line they have to really treat it to make it taste drinkable and remove as much of the crud it’s carrying as they can. I’m not sure it’s all that effective as we once tried a rowpu tabletop unit and the filters blew out in just over two months so that should give you some idea.

Every dog I have ever had loved the snow! Tucker doesn’t like rain, but likes snow.

We had a light snow a few back that only stayed for just a few hours. The two older dogs went out and stopped dead, they just stared. They tentatively walked out into it, gingerly high-stepped in it, did their business and came right back inside. These be Southern dogs.

The snow has to be at least a couple of inches deep. The dogs put their noses down into it and throw it into the air.

When I was a teenager, my neighbor had a pregnant dachshund. When she got really big, she had to be helped into and out of the house because there was a little step up at the door. She couldn’t get her belly over it. LOL

Sleepy Puppy falls asleep on baby
Some answers to common questions I’ve seen. Callie(the puppy) is a mutt that was tied to our fence in 2012. It is guessed that she is a pitt/catahoula mix. She is the sweetest dog we have ever had.

Funny, it seemed like the puppy wanted to go to sleep but didn’t want to leave the baby.
