LIVE: House Judiciary Committee Impeachment Inquiry Evidence Hearing

I’m not impressed by these hearings, but we’ll see, I guess.

So now we have a hearing on the evidence. Hmmmmm…it may just be me but the idea that the House could go from just beginning (zero) to a final report on the evidence (60) in just a few short months, to include a sudden raft of tier one witnesses and a detailed final bucket of evidence leaves me…..suspicious.

There are pieces of important legislation the House has stumbled over for years important legislation, that still molders in some committee’s ‘Things to Do’ basket, but with uncharacteristic efficiency organizes this impeachment? Gimme a break.

Turned on Rush this AM and in the first hour he is truly angry that the Republicans aren’t correcting false statements nor are they hard-hitting. I’m not listening to the hearings…don’t need the rise in blood pressure…so I don’t know the set-up and whether just the Republicans’ counsel is asking questions or whether the House members can ask questions and make statements.

I’ll simply wait for the analysis by those I respect. Even listening to Rush being mad had to be turned off.

The Judiciary Committee’s Ex Post Facto Approach To Impeachment Violates the Constitution
    Rob Natelson – Posted: Dec 09, 2019 12:01 AM

The House Judiciary Committee has issued a report claiming, essentially, that Congress is not bound by any standards of what is impeachable. Citing Justice Joseph Story, who wrote a 19th-century commentary on the Constitution, the report claims that it is impossible to establish any “comprehensive definition of ‘high Crimes and Misdemeanors’ or a catalog of offenses that are impeachable.” Instead, the report says, Congress must collect the facts and then consider whether impeachment is warranted.

What strikes me as I see this farce unfold….

These people are (at the least) exaggerating and misrepresenting evidence. Mis-hearing or mis-percieving simple reports of conversations etc. I am horrified to think these same people are “The Law Makers” for the USA. And the “witnesses” are as bad. I am horrified to see such unintelligent people are apparently in positions of importance in the US Government, diplomatic Service etc (even the military). Silly brainwashed people are senior law Professors?? The education system is DOOMED!!
    It is all very sad
“The Washington Swamp” is only one aspect of the rot that has taken over society.
