    Sitting in my hotel room, eating cold leftover barbeque and mac ‘n cheese, enjoying the last of my trip to Orlando for the annual speech and hearing convention. Walked miles everyday (huge convention center, seemed everything I wanted to attend was at the opposite end from the current place I was), saw a few old friends. Learned a few new things, got reinforced on alot more. Had a nice afternoon with Aus.

    Orlando is so different every time I return: in the early 70’s before Disney it was a little town with a lake in the middle, and farmland around. In the early 90’s the convention center was built in the middle of farmland, with a few hotels around. Now it is one giant Vegas (without gambling) in all directions. Clearly people who come here spend serious money on “premium” experiences.

    Something I’d posted next door last night:

    I don’t know if we’ve come to realize how much Donald Trump has sacrificed becoming President. I don’t mean in peace of mind, privacy and income but he’s made himself a permanent target of the Left and the Democrats.

    Leaving office won’t stop the attacks, he’s poked the political tiger and exposed a lot of business-as-usual shady dealings and crooked operators. He’s earned their undying enmity and they won’t stop attacking him and his family until they’re cold and dead or in jail…or both. They have top destroy them not only in revenge but as an example to those who’d dare try and confront the corrupt elitists trying to turn the country into their personal fiefdom.

    He has a target on his back and as soon as they can the swamp will turn the full force of the Federal government against him. The IRS, the FBI, and agency they can use to attack his hotels, they’ll all be aligned against him. And that doesn’t even begin to address the attacks that will be launched against him by the blue states where he does business. He’s basically thrown himself under the swamp bus for the country.

          In a letter to his wife, John Adams wrote:

          “Indeed I feel not a little out of Humour, from Indisposition of Body. You know, I cannot pass a Spring, or fall, without an ill Turn — and I have had one these four or five Weeks — a Cold, as usual. Warm Weather, and a little Exercise, with a little Medicine, I suppose will cure me as usual. … Posterity! You will never know, how much it cost the present Generation, to preserve your Freedom! I hope you will make a good Use of it. If you do not, I shall repent in Heaven, that I ever took half the Pains to preserve it.”

          Adams frustration is evident…and gives us pause to consider what inner thoughts Trump may be dealing with himself. I pray constantly for him!

            All of the Founders had prices on their heads, it’s what happens when you go toe-to-toe with the oligarchy. They created the US as a country where the citizens owned their lives and gave us the Constitution as a guide and warning that those who crave power and domination are still lurking in the shadows. Little did they know that some 200 years later so many would find freedom such a bothersome task and choose ‘benign’ dictatorship as a viable lifestyle.

                Oh for sure, that ‘perpetual infant’ state where you’re always seeking comfort and security rules, a lot of folks never break out of that into adulthood. Then again, I’m a biological determinist and the progs don’t really cozy up to that because we knows they tactics and game plans.

    Well, I am still trying to get this thing to work right. I had a suspicion that part of my problem was Firefox for some reason. So I switched over to Microsoft Edge (?) I guess it is. NOw I am having a problem learning how this is set up and can’t seem to sign in to WordPress.

    Bwaaahaaaahaaaa, I’m giving the Fates the middle finger, tempting them by starting my Thanksgiving sides early. We’re having our Turkey Day on Tuesday as our GGS has to go back with his mama for their extended family Thanksgiving meal on Thursday. I should have all of the sides done and only need to do the Turkey, gravy, rolls and potatoes (if needed) on Tuesday.

    The leftovers will last thru Thursday EASY and I’ve got a big slug of sausage so I can take the bones and misc stuff, cook them down late Tuesday and Wednesday and make turkey and sausage gumbo. Never get tired of that stuff. What the hey, you can even toss the leftover turkey gravy into the gumbo if you’d like, there are no…OK, very few…rules.
