Kevin McCarthy was friends with Paul Ryan as was most every other Republican. Such a shame McCarthy didn’t become Speaker instead of Ryan.
I’ve been on the mailing list since the Boehner years for the Speaker newsletters. It was perfectly obvious that Ryan went out of his way NOT to mention President Trump by name, usually just “the President” when he absolutely HAD to mention him at all. McCarthy would not have done that and doesn’t do that in his newsletter now. We could have avoided a whole lot of the anti-Trump and “ignore Trump” which Ryan put out with. What a blessing that would have been!
