High cholesterol associated with longer life
    By Thomas Lifson – October 25, 2019

Highly educated “experts” rule today’s advanced societies, but their advice on how the rest of us should live – often enforced by government coercion –is increasingly exposed as premature at best and mistaken, incomplete, ignorant, or fraudulent at worst.

Czarina and I have long been associated with the medical-industrial complex, long enough to see the latest, greatest, expert, cutting edge medical research change about as often as docs change white lab coats.

There’s this whole huge industry from docs to pharma to nutritionists that make a good living off of the cholesterol theory. It’s been a cash cow for decades and those milking it are not going to give up that easy ride…easily. There’s been research that seems to hint strongly at inflammation being the base problem and a lot of heart and artery disease but that can be dealt with by more common and far cheaper drugs so why not attack the component that you can make the most money off of, the one that doesn’t solve the problem but echoes the industry’s mantra of ‘Long Term Management’?

    1) Andrew McCabe dropped his Wrongful Termination suit 🙂 .

The rats are making deals take that to the bank.

    2) Frost Flower on a mushroom.

Frost Flowers are as beautiful as they are rare. A frost flower is created on autumn or early winter mornings when ice in extremely thin layers is pushed out from the stems of plants or occasionally wood. This extrusion creates wonderful patterns which curl and fold into gorgeous frozen petioles giving this phenomenon both its name and its appearance.

    4) As has been known all along sooner or later Michael Flynn’s conviction is going to be overturned on several counts 1) fruit of the forbidden tree 2) failure to comply with the Brady Rule 3) Felonious Prosecutorial Conduct

Altering Flynn’s 302 screams of desperation.

    5) Probably one of the most hysterical miscues ever.

    😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

    6) Steve Scalise is stepping up to the plate and hitting the the democrats in the face with a brass bat.

If people scatter out of a room when you walk in & turn on the light, it begs the question: What are they hiding in there?

That’s exactly what happened when my colleagues & I entered the backroom Schiff is trying to impeach President Trump from to get the truth.

    Unacceptable!

Bravo on the subtle comparison of democrats to cockroaches. 😎😂

    8) The ease of finding quotes that are on the tip of our minds.

“One must indeed be ignorant of the methods of genius to suppose that it allows itself to be cramped by forms. Forms are for mediocrity, and it is fortunate that mediocrity can act only according to routine. Ability takes its flight unhindered.”
    ― Napoleon Bonaparte

    9) I believe President Trump is not only a student of Sun Tzu but also a student of Napoleon Bonaparte

Democrats just announced that they no longer want the Whistleblower to testify. But everything was about the Whistleblower (they no longer want the second Whistleblower either), which they don’t want because the account of my call bore NO RELATIONSHIP to the call itself. The entire Impeachment Scam was based on my perfect Ukrainian call, and the Whistleblowers account of that call, which turned out to be false (a fraud?). Once I released the actual call, their entire case fell apart. The Democrats must end this Scam now. Witch Hunt!

Remember Team Trump through Giuliani warned that this was a set up from day one.

“This was the month Giuliani himself planned to go, and he was blunt to The New York Times about his purpose when his intended trip came to light. He intended to press for an investigation that would be helpful to Trump’s reelection.

“We’re meddling in an investigation, which we have a right to do,” he said. “There’s nothing illegal about it,” he went on, though “somebody could say it’s improper.

“The battlefield is a scene of constant chaos. The winner will be the one who controls that chaos, both his own and the enemies”_Napoleon Bonaparte

Somewhere my son has an interesting letter about Bonaparte. I have less than halfheartedly googled this and found nothing, someday I will try harder.

When my son made his FIrst Communion each young communicant was given a letter by one of the senior parish members, something telling the children about the importance of the Eucharist, something to bring it to life for them. The one my son got told the story of Bonaparte recalling the day of his FIrst Communion towards the end of his life. He went into a little detail to describe it, and he said it was the happiest day of his life.

I always wondered where that information came from. It must have come from a book because this was early 80s and no one used computers IRL back then. Also, he used actual quotes that were statements from Napoleon. Did he write an autobiography maybe? I have never checked, but I always meant to. Maybe it was taken from letters he wrote or something. Anyhow, I was much more impressed than my son, doubt he even remembers it.

Perhaps in The Letters of Napoleon to Josephine?

Napoleon wrote of love as he wrote of war.

            Passionately and with no pretense.

As for me, to love you alone, to make you happy, to do nothing which would contradict your wishes, this is my destiny and the meaning of my life.

Power went out about 5:30,generator kicked in as expected at 6:00. winds were steady at about 30 with gusts to somewhere around 50. They’re down to about 20 steady right now with gusts to 30s. No rain, just wind, but that’s good as it stresses the trees and helps strengthen them for the big storms.

It’s neat as we can stand outside and the wind’s whipping the trees at about 60 feet up but on the ground the wind’s blocked by the forest so it’s just breezy on the ground. Another 1.1″ of rain last night making for a 2 day storm total of 4.8″, not that bad.

Just waiting for the wind to go down so they can fix the power lines and we’re back to Saturday.

I think it is an extension of what some 8th grade girls in the Bronx started earlier this year. They got tired of having their periods treated like something dirty or not to be talked about, so they wrote and published a podcast “shhh! Periods!”. They thought if they could talk about it in public it would be less awkward around boys, and they could stop hiding tampons, and not be shamed when they had a “leak”. I know was ashamed even to be seen buying a box of Kotex, which is crazy, since this is a normal body function. Sorry guys, this is one of the things people talk about on tv now.

And no, it was not about being trans. The commercial was about if boys understood having a period. It was clearly ineffective to any audience our age, who were raised embarrassed.

I was absolutely not raised embarrassed. Not only did my parents tell me about menstruation and sexual intercourse, it was also mandatory for 6th graders to have sex education in California. What’s wrong with today’s parents that they don’t tell their children the important facts of life?

My periods made me feel womanly…never had a cramp and was regular as clockwork my entire life. I paid for the ease, however, by having the world’s worst menopause…LOL!

LOL That was exactly the opposite of how I was told. I went through the health video in 5th grade and unfortunately it just made everything all hush hush. In 11th grade we had sex ed, in mixed company. I knew the difference in boys and girls, but they used a lot of words, and no pictures, that I didn’t have any idea what the meaning was. So I came out of the class knowing nothing.

I remember a number of times as a girl other kids telling me they envied me for having such great parents. The first time someone told me that, I was surprised. They didn’t seem unusual to me because that was all I’d known.

Later in life I realized my friends were right…my folks were out of the ordinary in so many ways. They lived their faith and had the attitude that if God created a body function, then it was a good thing for our happiness and well-being. There was no false modesty or embarrassment in my household and that was due to those dear people.

I’ll tell you a fun little story…the day in 1954 I had my first period was a Sunday. We’d been to church and I was dressed up in “Sunday clothes” when discovering that it had begun. Immediately I told my parents…my Mom first and then my Dad who was sitting in the living room reading the newspaper. I was so excited! I recall Mom telling him that I had wonderful news. Isn’t that sweet! Dad gave me a hug. Talk about affirming!

The thing to remember about families…they don’t set out to be unaffirming. Perhaps it’s just that they sort of pull in their emotions for fear of rejection or being made to feel foolish.

The key to everything is forgiveness…for ourselves and for others for our missteps and unintentional repressions…forgiveness and compassion.

Jesus’s words of instruction are so important to our happiness…”This is what our Scriptures come to teach: in everything, in every circumstance, do to others as you would have them do to you.” We forgive because we would like to be forgiven.

Okay, it went over my head too then. Which I think means it is poorly made. I agree with stella on privacy, but I also remember being absolutely terrified about dealing with this new and awful thing that had been inflicted on me at school. For a week each month I was afraid someone would see that I was on my period, or that something would go wrong before I could get to the bathroom in the so few minutes between class.

Unlike Lucille, I was not even told about menstruation until it happened to me. I can tell you this, that is NOT the thing to do to a young girl. At 61 I still carry a piece of hatred in me for my mother doing this to me, and it had huge repercussions for me as far as dealing with things, body image, and feeling in control.

So, I guess the point of this is, if they wanted a commercial about that, girls deserve better and dignity goes a long way.
