To honor all of those who work hard every day, and for those who did so for many years and are honorably retired!
There are many great songs celebrating workers – the good bits and the bad bits. What’s your favorite?

One of my favorites! I always liked Tennessee Ernie Ford. What you see is what you get.

Stella, I just took a few minutes to watch the Alabama video. Long time since I’ve heard that one, and what a wonderful choice for today. I’ve always thought Randy Owen was one of the best looking men I’ve seen.

Thanks for the share, Menagerie! Really pumps up my views, and it makes things more fun when we have new people commenting.

The wife of my Vietnam partner is one of the last people working for Alabama. Those guys did wonders for Valley Head with June Jam, profits went right to the town and schools. Then the local politicians sorta just stabbed the golden goose in the back. I miss June Jam.

Who never played this during their working life?
During the early days of FM radio, every Friday night, 5:00 p.m., WMMS (Cleve) played this right after Born To Run. It was our ritual. No one, ever, missed it. One heard it from every car, every home…Wicked Son grew up on it.

The Glenn Fry song was written in honor of his dad who worked on the floor of GM in Detroit all his life.
