        I heard her tell her kids “You can do hard things” once in a video. I was impressed. That is so much the kind of encouragement we ought to be giving them. I’ve heard my one of my sons tell his child, the youngest of my grandchildren, “I believe in you, you can do this” pretty much since he started rolling over.

        I read the summary of a study a year or so ago. They took two groups of kids, gave them tasks, reading, tests, etc. After the results the first time they told one group that they did excellent and were really smart. The second group they praised their hard word and effort. Each time the experiment was conducted afterwards the second group did better and better as far as results and the first group did less well each time.
