Yes, just not on me. The old Daisy dog came by a bit after I wrote that and pushed both of them off of me, she wanted to go outside.

Daisy’s just become a sorta Director of Everything. No dog can move, no cat can move without her giving a bark, getting up and going over to the offending thing. The Fat Thing cat an BD wait until I’m in the room and then wait again for me to stand between Daisy and them as they settle in, other wise she barks or growls. She’s just getting a bit…old.

Number 8 of these is supposed to be a dog laugh: two dogs are playing, and they make a very small noise. Almost a pant-cough. Fascinating! Also says they like Bob Marley and Jon Bon Jovi music. That’s good!

MAny of my very best memories involve Golden Retrievers. They are loving beyond belief, and hilarious in their antics. We had two of them when my kids were growing up, starting when the oldest was around one, and got our third one, a female finally, when our youngest went off to college. Such fine members of our family, and now that I think about it, boy, were they less trouble than the boys.

All the Golden Retrievers I ever knew were really nice dogs. I had a lot of different kinds of dogs, most of them rescues, mostly mixes, but never had a lab until I was in my 50’s and we got two puppies. We had plenty of room for them to run free, which helped make life easier. They ran and played outside and then, when they came in, they were usually ready for a nap. The were like having two perpetual two year olds. The had such sweet dispositions and were so much fun.

They are so wonderful, just the right kind of dog for us. Now I have a 13 year old black lab, a gift from my husband on our 30th anniversary. Riley has been one of the very great loves of my life, and I think he loves me more than I have ever been love by anyone or anything. I sure don’t deserve that wonderful dog.
