NBC admits that there’s a down side to gun control

And they wonder why we fight so hard to preserve our 2nd amendment rights …

Kerry Sanders of NBC News says, “You have to understand in Venezuela gun ownership is not something that is open to everybody, so the military have the guns, they have the power, and as long as Nicholas Maduro controls the military, he controls the country.”

Oh dam. Right on cue, another shooting, UNC Charlotte. 1 or 2 dead, at least 3 injured.
The gun control drums are drowning out the logic of Venezuelan gubmint control.

Thankfully Wicked Son turned down that UNC job and went to NC Ag & Tech U in Greensboro. WS would shoot back, guaranteed.

Chairman Mao. ‘Problems of War and Strategy’ 1938′ “Political power grows out of the barrel of a gun.”

How many dictators have confiscated the peoples’ means of defense promising that the government would keep them safe? We can immediately jump on the British when they owned the US and tried to confiscate Colonists’ weapons at Concord. Now Schumer and Pelosi say ‘give up your guns and the State will keep you safe’.

As for the State defending us – here we are just 4 months into the new year and New Orleans has had almost as many car burglaries as it did all of last year. Security camera footage is showing many of these smash-and-grab burglaries are being done by clearly armed thugs. Police response is to not try to save your property, let it happen, call the police and your insurance company. Police will be by in a few hours – up to about 24 – to take a statement and write a report you can use for the insurance claim.

I don’t watch NBC or CNN news or Fox either for that matter. But MSNBC news during the day only, has shifted lately. People there are pushing back about pretty much all the issues. For the first time in a long time they are covering both sides and letting all be heard. Just not on the high rated shows. Surprisingly for that forum, they are agreeing and disagreeing on things that matter to all of us. Certainly not on shows like rachel maddow, but just normal day time shows.

I don’t watch any of those channels either, but I did catch this on Twitter! I don’t have cable now, and I rarely watch ABC/CBS/NBC, so anything I see is on the internet.

Something I recently became more aware. I took a couple friends target practicing, teaching them fundamentals and safety. I explained to them, that if they should ever decide to purchase a gun, that it would be wise to take a class and read up. I was amazed at how “naive” they were about guns. In past times, they were completely against. But as I watched them, I had to provide a lot of information. Treat the gun as if it’s always loaded. Recheck. Always point in a safe direction. Never aim or put the finger on the trigger until you’re ready to shoot and know what you’re aiming at. One, on an empty chamber, pointed the gun up. I repeated: where’s the gun aimed. He/she said, the gun is not loaded. I explained that when we think a gun isn’t loaded, accidents happen. They appreciated the lesson. I could see they were so unfamiliar before. (I explained, one time, when I was cleaning, I found a round in the chamber I thought was empty, which is why I always recheck.) **The difficulty with so many people who are anti-gun is they really have no experience. They’ve listened to others attempting to persuade them that guns are bad. But without real information, how can they know? It seems the platform of discussions need enhancement. Those who’ve always been around firearms have a very different perspective and experiences from those who’ve let others explain without real experience and information.

AND people are afraid of things that they aren’t familiar with. Thanks for doing a good deed and teaching your friends some basics. I was surprised at the number of people who are against open carry, and it’s only because they can SEE the guns! I told many people that they interact with others every day in many places, like the supermarket, who are armed, but the arms are concealed.

That is true. And other than television or the internet, most people never witness those terrible tragedies, in part, because we don’t hear reported all the benefits of our second amendment rights. There’s a reason for our constitution and the freedoms supported. Those who began this country experienced the full impact of not having rights.
