Wonder if we couldn’t ship some of this super cold temps down to the southern border for a few months, that should dissuade the northern migration.

I see people are really bent out of shape about Kentucky’s governor saying we’re soft. I have to say I kind of agree with him. I get where it’s cold enough to freeze your lungs, but schools today let kids out for everything.
It doesn’t get that cold in Oklahoma, yet these days they cancel school for the cold. They also cancel it if it’s too hot. One school in August canceled school because part of the school had a/c down. What was really funny about it was this particular school for the life of the school has only had air conditioning for 20 years. So 21 years ago kids could manage to survive school every day with no air conditioning, but now can’t survive one day without a/c.

When I was attending school in Illinois in the 1960’s, we had school when it was -20. Now they close the schools. Probably afraid of lawsuits.

The worst I remember was when we had the great power outage a few years back. No electricity for a couple of days in really hot weather. No A/C and NO FANS!

I would go out to the car every so often, and turn the A/C on full blast and listen to the radio. And I hung out in the basement a lot.

After the hurricane a year ago, of course the power was out, but only for one day, I believe. I was glad my friend who had been through many outages, had talked me into buy a battery operated fan, a regular sized one before the storm. It worked great.

And phones with rotary dials, attached to the wall by a cord, and no drive thru food you could eat out of your hand while driving. Heard it all before, actually remember it. And you had to call the operator to have her dial long distance from a cord board (yeah, I had that job for a while). And the line was scratchy sounding and SOUNDED like l o n g distance. How did people exist!

I honestly miss the phones with cords and up until I just couldn’t justify getting raped by AT&T for a landline phone anymore I kept a corded phone.
Funny story last summer my daughter was keeping a friend’s daughter for a few hours one afternoon. She was 10 and they were outside playing on the swing set. My grandson got thirsty so he turned on the water hose and got him a drink. My daughter said she thought he was picking up a snake the way she screamed. She was screaming that he was drinking out of the water hose and it would make him sick. My daughter said she laughed and told her if drinking out of a water hose would kill you, she would have been dead years ago.
People today would not survive I don’t think.

Another true story from a few years ago. It was the middle of July and hot. I was getting out of the car in the parking lot at the grocery store, this young woman pulls in next to me with her windows rolled up. She gets out and is drenched in sweat and looks like she’s about to pass out. I asked her if she was okay and she told me yes just hot because her air conditioning went out in her car. I asked her if her windows wouldn’t roll down and she said, “yes they roll down why?” I told her well we used to call air conditioning driving 55 down the highway with windows rolled down. That confused her. lol

Good morning, Nyet! Artistically created pancakes are always welcome as I head out the door to artsy Paris, France (not Arkansas where my father was born) to check out…well…the art…with street art first….

…and then I’ll pop over to Modus Art Gallery at 23 Place des Voges 75003, Paris to view contemporary art…

Being in Paris at the right time, through February 10, 2019 the Musée Marmottan-Monet is showing over 60 Impressionist to Fauve artworks from private collections including art by Monet, Berthe Morisot, Degas, Caillebotte, Renoir, Rodin, Camille Claudel, Seurat, Signac, Gauguin, Van Gogh, Redon, Vuillard, Bonnard, Derain, Vlaminck and Matisse…

‘The Gare Saint-Lazare’ by Claude Monet (1877)…

The exhibition’s star of the show, Gustave Caillebotte’s (1876) “Le Pont de l’Europe” apparently depicts a changing Paris due to the industrial revolution…and the general revolutionary attitude of the Parisians (must be their national character)…

      Merci!

I’d still rather face Barnes in court than Linn. But Barnes is going to be a lot of fun to watch as he spears the Leftist Fleas.

    6) Every day it seems that we are getting closer to President Trump naming a third Supreme Court Justice.

7 ) Chicago police say detectives have reviewed hundreds of hours of surveillance footage but haven’t found any yet that shows the alleged attack on “Empire” actor Jussie Smollett.

Seems that there is so much love in the world that the Leftist Loonies have to keep making up fake attacks and “hate” crimes. (Except of course the true physical and verbal attacks which are directed at patriots .)

As far as I can understand the story is that there were bleach toting, noose hauling, white supremacist homophobes running the streets of Chicago when it is 12° with a wind chill factor of -20°, they find their dream victim, an actor unknown by almost everyone. These white supremacist homophobes somehow know who Jussie 😏 is and they know that he is either gay or plays a gay man on TV so they assault him and shout ugly words about gay and/or black people at him as they viciously assault him and toss a noose around his neck.

Oh and then at some point Jussie remembers that they were wearing MAGA hats.

Oh and Jussie was on his phone with some one during the assault.

    🙄

He was a public school teacher and such a good little socialist, freedom hating slob that he made it all the way to school superintendent. <<That takes loyalty to to a demonic agenda.

Morning all! -12 right now at my house. The gas company has asked all of us to reduce our thermostats to 65 degrees or less through Friday because of a fire at a gas compressor station yesterday.

I got an email yesterday evening from them, then a text called an IMMINENT SEVERE ALERT at 10:30 pm. It blared through just like an Amber Alert, waking me up from a sound sleep. Sheez!

I did reduce my thermostat some, but not until this morning. Before that, it was set at 69 degrees. I certainly don’t want to do without heat this week. I suppose I shouldn’t be cooking or baking either, or running the dishwasher (hot water), but they didn’t ask.

My son is a trucker. He was in Indianapolis yesterday morning. I believe he said the temp was maybe -4. He saw a load that looked good pay wise for Wisconsin, asked Siri the weather there and immediately nixed that idea.

He prefers to run up north, rather than down here when there is ice and snow because the roads up there are almost immediately taken care of by road crews, whereas down here the road crews arrive when the tulips bloom. But that preference goes out the door when temps are below zero.

When I lived in TN, I noticed they came out and salted the roads if there was a forecast of snow in the next two days. And, of course, all the schools shut down with the threat of snow. That sounds extreme, but so many of the children lived on the mountains and couldn’t get down because the snow and ice would be the worst there. So, down on the flat it looked normal, but the roads up the mts were very dangerous.

It is even harder to bring a CI case to court when the entire case was a fictional narrative invented by an intelligence contractor as a what if scenario. Then planted in the media & intelligence communities to create the false impression that collusion was happening! #PsyGroup

I wonder how long until they realize that Mueller sabotaged the entire collusion narrative by charging the Russian trolls, allowing the facts to come out about the case?
Sure would be a shame if those Russian intelligence officers he charged turned out to be cover identities used by some cybermercenaries to hide that they weren’t Russian.
