    You might find this somewhat amusing. I received a notice from the office of my apartment complex that the cost of my carport had changed because of a change in the sales tax. I originally read that I would be saving over $21 a month. I knew that didn’t make sense, so I read it again. That was what the cost of the carport had changed to. I couldn’t remember what it was previously because it is included in my rent. Well, when I went down to pay the rent I found out that I had saved a whole……………..wait for it…………..2 cents. They had to send out thousands of notices for a 2 cent change in people’s rent. SMH

    Afternoon Everyone!
    Made the mistake of going to the food store – now DH & I both are fighting off what everyone seems to have :-{
    For our New Year’s Eve picture we have this little guy on a plane from a 1910 Leyendecker Saturday Eveneing Post cover illustration:

    I chose this little guy because he reflects my next series of vintage airplane illustrations. I thought some of the pictures of early flight were fake – but no – they actually took flight in these things!!!

      I went out with a friend for a late lunch, she said at one point “Man you look terrible 😁.

          I never even knew that, “Bless your heart,” could be used as an insult until I went against the dominant mentality at the Tree House about the Biker incident at Twin Peaks. Some one told me it was an insult after I thanked the person who said it to me 😂, I thought it was odd because the person was quite angry with me 🙃.

              P.S. The bless your heart is a dying art form, another great cultural loss. Seriously. Those dumb azz kids just think they are all the stuff with another round of witless profanity, never understanding the power generations of their ancestors, most especially genteel little ladies, wielded with a bless your heart set down.

              It mattered, it was noticed, and across town the tales were told over supper served with a tall, cold iced sweet tea, perhaps with a bit of mint added to the glass. And the poor victim went home and thought about their transgression. The BYH had power.

              My friend is a nurse; she uses it to comfort people in the hospital, meaning it in the good way. It is used here in the Louisiana & Mississippi south mostly in the good way. I don’t run in the social circles where it would be used in the other ways…

          Thanks Tessa. Things are on the upswing it is just a long duration cold and I’m not a great sleeper even when I’m healthy so I’m getting about 3 hours sleep a night which is making me look like a raccoon 🦝.

    So. .. A family member mentioned over the holidays that the work with someone with gender dysphoria and this mentally man in question has decided that he is a woman… And gets angry when called by his legal name (that just causes me to wonder about the fragility of the idea that this person has about themselves.)

    Anyway, the conversation got me wondering: who or what protects my right to not have to play along in some gender-dysphoric individual’s fantasy world? I consider playing along with these people as dangerous as telling someone with anorexia that they look fat. Some delusions are extremely dangerous. This is one of them.

    No one went after me with the 22nd Amendment argument when I suggested Michelle might pick Barry as a running mate and there was only one mild rejoinder when I defended the Moslem security patrols in Brooklyn. All that bail and barely a nibble.

    Just received this email from Scott Taylor (who unfortunately lost his Virginia congressional seat in November to a wretched Dem)…

    Breaking News: I just got word a little bit ago, that President Donald J. Trump signed the Ashanti Alert Act into law.

    Wow, what an amazing New Years Eve! I had a very emotional conversation with her mother and spoke to her father. Now, out of this dark tragedy (Ashanti was abducted & murdered), light and hope will come to many families around the country in 2019. (The Alert is similar to the Amber alert, but is for missing adults in danger).

    Ashanti’s legacy is solidified as she looks down from Heaven, saving lives. We wanted to get this done by the end of the year, and it was signed with a little less than 6 hours to go. So proud of all who helped make this happen.
