YESSSSssss! We made it! Morning, Lucille! Hope you have a wonderful weekend. Tonight my GS is spending the night, and then tomorrow my DD will pick him up for a special day for just he and his parents, and my GD will stay with us while they are enjoying their fun plans. I am grabbing every opportunity I can to love on that sweet baby girl. I can’t believe that in another week she will be two months old! She has stolen my heart! ❤️

I know you are going to have a fine time sand. I was looking at little baby girl clothes yesterday, and kind of wishing for another little one. Enjoy these sweet days.

Had a huge huge downpour today. Was raining before the sun came up and still going. Very windy too. Mudslides and car accidents, but also nature is giving everything a bath, refilling creeks and ponds, and blowing all the leaves everywhere so we actually have a noticeable season. Kiddo had me read the polar express and frosty the snowman today. They get to wear pjs to school tomorrow and decorate a tree in class. Nothing like nonstop Christmas for the little ones.
But Im ready for a Caturday sleep in. At least til 700…😊

Morning Gil! Did the IEP go well? Glad your little is getting to do lots of fun Christmas things, but it can be tiring. My GS is having his first holiday program preschool next week, so I guess my time to do those activities is just beginning again. Feels like I just survived the crazy high school years and now it’s grandparenting busyness! It’s all good, though! 😉

Morning! Now for you its just fun stuff. Kiddo jas his holuday program next week too. He was resistant at 1st but now wants to participate. If you go back to Wednesday’s thread i left an iep note. They recommend OT for tantrums, attention seeking, and eval for sensory processing concerns. Didnt qualify for iep. Like MENAGERIE said, this may all resolve by the end of the school year.

That is, as liver news goes, good news. In my son’s case he was within a few days of cashing in, mostly because he is such a big guy (6′ 4″ and 260) that he needed a particularly large liver, he couldn’t even take a partial transplant from either me or another of my sons.
They fien them though, they fly them throughout the region and you have to be ready on a moment’s notice when they call to get to the hospital. Did they give you the option of a donor partial transplant?

India has no plans to recover body of US missionary killed by tribe
‘We have decided not to disturb the Sentinelese,’ says anthropologist involved in John Allen Chau case
https://www.theguardian.com/world/2018/nov/28/india-body-john-allen-chau-missionary-killed-by-sentinelese-tribe
Indian authorities say they have no plans to recover the body of John Allen Chau, an American missionary who was killed by members of an isolated tribe on a remote island.
LikeLiked by 4 people
Why risk more lives? Until the authorities can work out a deal with the tribe to where they can retrieve the body without risking more deaths/injuries I don’t think it’s worth it.
It’s not as if the missionary floated in on a raft after an accident, he knew full well the history of the islanders and made the conscious decision to go there anyway. At some point I believe something will be worked out but what’s done is done and I can’t see compounding the damage.
LikeLiked by 4 people
Exactly.
The last two folks who happened upon the island the Sentinelese hanged like scarecrows facing the sea.
Leave them alone. If John Chau wanted a christian burial he should have left the Sentinelese alone.
No Sentinelese should die because of John, nor should anyone trying to retrieve his body.
I’ve watched a video of the Sentinelese accepting coconuts from the outside world maybe they would trade his body for coconuts. but they are non communicative with the outside world so how would a trade be worked out?
I stand by my first reaction to this whole sad story. John is in his final resting place. So be it.
LikeLiked by 4 people
The Indians appear to have an on-and-off ability to work out deals with them but it looks like a special deal for special occasions, it ain’t a revolving door.
Back to Czarina’s mantra: ‘You can’t make things/situations foolproof as fools are so damnably persistent’.

G’afternoon Stella and Stellars. Sure has been quiet around here recently. Everyone busy, I spose.
Wicked Son finally decided which job offer to take. There were three very nice ones. He decided on UNC Wilmington. 10 hour drive from here. Starts 4 Feb 2019.
His Wickedness is leaving Duplicitous GDaughter here with me, and Insalubrious GSon will be staying at school in Toledo. WS’s MIL will remain staying in her “old people’s home” also here, about 30 min away. So, WS left me alone but not alone. lolol We’ll see how it goes. DGD’s new BF lives 4 streets up from me (sigh). She is moving in his house. Heaven help me.
Need an (some) opinion(s), if y’all feel like thinking a bit. Lordstown has asked all twits to use the hashtag #Save Lordstown. I don’t twit, so I am out of this one.
Sen Sherrod Brown wants to not use new tariffs, but instead offer rebates to Americans for buying American cars, trucks, etc. This one is above my expertise, so my opinion is irrelevant. Any of you have a yea or nay on Sherrod Brown’s idea? Coming from Sherrod Brown, my first instinct is oh heck no, but that is just me.
Many Thanks.
Have a Great Afternoon.

“Sen Sherrod Brown wants to not use new tariffs….” The President’s decision is to use tariffs as a bargaining tool. Sherrod Brown is a globalist tool whose opinions are to be dismissed on just about everything, though apparently, he and President Trump have been talking on how to keep GM in Ohio.

Wow, a couple of REALLY big ‘uns this morning! Currently they are giving a rating of 7.0 and 5.8; I expect the first to go up to 7.5 before it’s final. The shaking lasted over 60 seconds. Seemed like forever. Occurred at 8:29 am local time. Tsunami warning was issued, but has been cancelled. Big damage, as the photo below shows, in Anchorage. Don’t know about injuries or loss of life yet. We are about 60 air miles south of Anchorage. Friends here on the Kenai Peninsula are reporting some road damage, and some breakage/loss in a few stores. DH and I are fine, no damage that we have found. More photos here:

One of the reasons (beside its being a &^%$#@* desert) I left Utah…I didn’t like the quakes that much. Between the ground arbitrarily moving on its own and every now and then rocking and rolling…
I was in Moscow when the ’94 quake hit Anchorage, I remember the picks being posted in the US Embassy and our just staring in wonder. That memory sorta kept me from asking for an Alaska basing for years – no one told me about Utah
We get teeny tiny deep quakes around here but as out house’s quake insurance is only about $100 a year we feel pretty secure we ain’t gonna see The Big One. Then again the daily advantages of living where you do tend to outnumber the slim chances of quakes as those in this area do the infrequent hurricane. It’s a wash.
LikeLiked by 1 person
Wow, your quake insurance is waaay cheaper than ours. DH just called a few days before this last shaker, when he learned that USAA offers it. It costs 10% of the value of your home. Every year. Our chance of The Big One is significantly higher than yours, and he said “worth it!”

A TSUNAMI WARNING IS IN EFFECT FOR THE COOK INLET AREA AND SOUTHERN KENAI PENINSULA IN ALASKA – Event details: Preliminary magnitude 7.0 (Mwp) earthquake.
How to stay safe now
Stay away from the beach. Tsunamis can travel hundreds of miles per hour, so you can’t escape if you’re close enough to see one.
1 hour ago · Sources: National Tsunami Warning Center, ready.gov

Tsunami warning has been cancelled. We are about 100 feet above Cook Inlet here in Nikiski, and a half mile from the western edge of the Kenai Peninsula; so hopefully would be ok in the event of Tsunami. There is no higher ground to go to from here in less than an hour’s drive. I’m really glad we don’t live in Seward, or near the Homer Spit.

Thank God you are OK Tundra! Just checked in to see when I heard about it on radio.
I NEVER wanted to live down at ocean level, after TINY tsunami hit beach when I was there with grandmother about 50? years ago. She knew what it was (perhaps after reading about prior ones in Hawaii and Alaska). When the waves went out and STAYED OUT she pulled me to get my attention and yelled run! – very unusual for her. It was only about 40 feet to stairs, and we just made it as the sea came in and flooded up to at least 1/3 to 1/2 way up sea wall (10-15 ft high?) as we were on stairs. It kept on coming. Heard people screaming. We continued to run and run from beach. Don’t know what happened to those people. She was the only one that knew what was going on. THE WAVES STAYING OUT WAS THE TIP OFF. THERE WAS NO HUGE TALL WAVE AHEAD OF TIME ON THE HORIZON. THE FORCE OF THE WATER WAS UNDERWATER.
Prayers for all affected by this. I’m guessing there are a lot more common sense people up there just out of necessity.

Popped back in for a minute. It just dawned on me about the seeming increased activity of the ring of fire, I think it’s from the Chinese bumping the Earth’s rotation off about a half a degree when they made that huge dam.. Lefties will blame it on us for some unknown reason I’m sure, but I think it’s what China has been doing. Hasn’t China also been doing some bomb testing?

I don’t know. Views and visits aren’t suffering. Comment quality has been bad for months. Personally, the Q stuff is a bore. I go with Scott Adams on that one.

Comment quality is having a rough time for sure. The q stuff is just one more thing as a resource as much as many other places are. But being banned for asking questions or not even referencing the q stuff makes me think about cth origins. Im sad about it.

I don’t think a person gets banned for referencing q. Hammering on the subject, taking over threads, being abusive to others, will. Do you believe that ad rem, WeeWeed, Menagerie or I are unfair? Because we are the moderators for the most part. Actually I don’t moderate much these days, but I understand the process. No matter what you do, someone will complain.
By the way, people who respectfully ask for their posting privileges to be restored usually get them, unless they were posting naked pics or something. Every blog moderates, some not enough.

No you are not unfair to me and many of the cases of time outs and the like I have seen. Many people are impolite, but some are more than others on different topics. All I understand at this point is many people who have been good contributors are gone and there are many who remain that are negative. And I didnt witness 1st hand each case but its a noticeable change. I always “self moderate”. Ill try again when I go over there.

Btw, you aren’t banned as far as I can determine. You were commenting yesterday, right?

lilbirdee12’s prayer:
Our Heavenly Father, Your children come to you tonight to ask for healing and peace throughout our country so that we may return to being One Nation Under God. Guide us to be leaders in Your Kingdom, spreading Your Love and Salvation to all. Forgive us our sins and deliver us from evil.
Lord, we ask for a blanket of protection over all our troops and law enforcement who serve to defend and protect us. Bless our representatives with the strength and wisdom they need to achieve the path You have chosen for us.
Please place Your Guardian Angels of Protection around Donald Trump and Mike Pence and their families as they seek to lead America back to You.
Grant us patience, Lord, as the evil ones try to anger us and cause us to fall.
Spread blessings over Israel and Netanyahu.
We humbly ask that You please comfort those who are grieving and in pain.
Thank you Father, for Your Love and the gift of Life.
In Jesus name, we pray. Amen.

Prayer for Justice Kavanaugh:
https://www.churchmilitant.com/news/article/kavanaugh-v.-ford
“After watching her husband rip into pro-death senators who used Dr. Christine Blasey Ford in attempts to derail the appointment of her husband to the U.S. Supreme Court, Ashley is asking all people of faith to unite in praying Psalm 40, which reads:”
“BE PLEASED, O LORD, TO DELIVER ME, LOOK DOWN, O LORD TO HELP ME. LET THEM BE CONFOUNDED AND ASHAMED TOGETHER, THAT SEEK AFTER MY SOUL TO TAKE IT AWAY. LET THEM BE TURNED BACKWARD AND BE ASHAMED THAT DESIRE EVILS TO ME.”
In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen
