I read or heard somewhere in the last couple of days (maybe on Rush’s program) that if a person is claiming “refugee” status and leaves his country without going to a foreign embassy applying for asylum, the first country he enters after he claims refugee status becomes his temporary refuge until things get sorted out. He may not continue on to another country still claiming refugee status. He then becomes merely an illegal alien.
The House really needs to address this mess. While the crisis is hot, the House should put forward bills to rescind the present laws which indicate that once a person puts his foot on American soil, he gains special status until he can be put in front of a judge to decide his fate. I’m too lazy to look up what that law is called or where the text can be read.
Congress needs to act NOW. Doing nothing but talk seems to be the M.O. thus far. So just who are the lazy ones?

I just posted this on the General Discussion thread, but I’ll put it here too. I like this idea:
Israel has developed the perfect weapon for this kind of invasion.
It is called Skunk Spray and it smells like a combination of dead animal and human excrement. It is 100 % non-toxic and completely safe – but makes people vomit from the disgusting stench – which lasts on the affected person for about 2 weeks and there is no way to get rid of the odor.

We need drones loaded with sprayers of this stuff and simply fly them down to the caravan and spray the crap out of them. They will stop. They will turn back, they will give up.
Non-violent, non-lethal, totally humane.

It’s perhaps informative to recall that the US Air Force created a Highway of Death in response to considerably less provocation from Iraqis back in 1991. And those Iraqis were not attempting to physically invade the USA.
If the US military will not defend the borders of the USA, it should be completely defunded and disbanded.

UPDATE: This is what happens when you don’t sink the first ship.
A second migrant caravan is heading for the American border having formed in the wake of an initial group, which has already crossed Guatemala and entered Mexico. The second caravan is made up of 1,000 people and crossed the border from Honduras into Guatemala on Sunday, before arriving in the town of Chiquimula on Monday night. They are following in the path of a much-larger group, believed to number around 7,000, which was sheltering in the town of Huixtla, in southern Mexcio, overnight on Monday.

If the illegals can be stopped by the least physical way, that is the best way. Yes, appearances matter.
Nobody here said that the ‘caravan’ shouldn’t be stopped, just suggested alternate methods.
Just because you prefer drama doesn’t mean that you ‘care’ any more than I do, or than Tundra does.

Um. No. They are already stinky, as they have no TP, soap, or shampoo. Landmine the border. Use A-10 Warthogs on their masses, like we did in Iraq with masses of people who didn’t even want to physically invade and leech off the USA. These people do. And they will, if we don’t do what our Constitution says our government is MADE FOR.
