THE paragliding protester who tried to disrupt Donald Trump’s golfing break in Turnberry has been arrested and charged.

Police Scotland confirmed that a 55-year-old man has been arrested and charged in relation to the protest in which an airborne activist held a sign saying “Trump well below par.”

A no fly zone was in place around the area where the US President and his wife Melania were staying for two nights.

A spokesperson for the force said: “Police Scotland can confirm that a 55 year old man has been arrested and has now been charged in connection with an incident when a powered parachute was flown in the vicinity of the Turnberry Hotel around 9.45pm on Friday 13 July 2018.

He is expected to appear at Ayr Sheriff Court, Monday 16 July 2018.

A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.

A previous report (USA Today) stated that police were informed prior to the stunt:

Ben Stewart, a Greenpeace spokesman, said the reaction from authorities was “pretty calm” when the group informed them in advance of the stunt.

“One of our first thoughts were how can we ensure that the police are comfortable with what we’re doing and don’t over-react,” he said.

A Greenpeace representative informed officers about the fly-over before it happened. The group also notified the police air incident advisor and Prestwick air traffic control minutes before the glider arrived.

“With these things you get a sense of what the reaction would be — and it felt pretty calm — we came in above Trump and it was interesting to see that Trump saw us and scurried inside when our banner came over,” Stewart said.

Of course security removed President Trump from the scene, to protect him! The man could have been carrying a weapon, or a dangerous substance of some kind. ‘Scurried’ my ass!

So are we believing that the officers knew ahead of time?

Doesn’t matter to me whether they knew before hand or not. Security was breeched, just because it happened to be by the nut cases who supposedly told security that they were going to breech security doesn’t mean the guy should not have been popped.

How ridiculous do the sound “Well we knew ahead of time and decided because someone gave us a heads up that we could read the mood of the guy breeching security so we let him endanger the life of the president of the United States.

He’s just lucky they didn’t shoot him out of the air. Which I would have approved of under the circumstances.

“Snipers watched as the paraglider passed” is the caption under the photo.

    And there’s the problem.

Apparently they have detailed criteria for when to shoot a paraglider who is coming into very close proximity of POTUS.

    1. If the suicide vest isn’t obvious, don’t shoot.

Those snipers have proven themselves useless in defending POTUS.
