    Friday the 13th. Not spooked, lots of winning, even despite the frustrations with the stzrok testimony, etc. Taking kiddo to a matinee to see Hotel Transylvania 3 today. I cant believe how expensive movies are but a matinee is ok. We smuggle in his snacks but he’ll make me buy popcorn anyways.

    What a night! I went to bed about 12:30 and just as I was about to drop off to sleep, I felt a tingle in my right ear. It felt like little legs walking around and made a paper crunching kind of sound. I made the mistake of using q-tip which only cause it to bite me, I think. After spending a while panicking, I checked to see if my urgent care was open and it wasn’t. The hospital is on the other side of town, so I went to Walmart and got a kit to rinse out ears. It said to put a few drops in, but I just squirted it full. I never saw it come out, but this morning when I went to urgent care, the doctor told me my ear canal looked perfectly clean. Of course, he said it wasn’t a bug. Baloney. I think I managed to get it washed out. And, deep in my ear was irritated. I think it was probably one of the very tiny ants here. I’m 72 yrs old and have NEVER had anything in my ear before. 😦

    It’s official, the Downton Abbey movie is a go. Focus Features has set production with Carnival Films to begin this summer for a return to all things Crawley. The original principal cast, including Maggie Smith, Michelle Dockery, Hugh Bonneville and more, are set to reprise their upstairs/downstairs roles with Focus and Universal Pictures International distributing.

    Creator Julian Fellowes has written the film’s screenplay and will produce alongside Gareth Neame and Liz Trubridge. Brian Percival (The Book Thief), who directed the series’ pilot, will helm the film. Nigel Marchant will also return to executive produce…

    Story details are being kept under wraps for now. The drama had its fair share of sad season conclusions from the outbreak of World War I to Matthew’s death by car crash. But turns of events as the post-Edwardian clan rang in 1926 in the 2015 series finale kept things cheerful with Edith marrying — and outranking her entire family; Mary expecting her second child; Anna and Bates welcoming their first; Tom and Henry christening their fancy new car dealership; Robert accepting Cora’s role outside the house; Isobel and Lord Merton in wedded bliss; and more blossoming romance for the downstairs crew: Mrs Patmore & Mr Mason, Daisy & Andy, Baxter & Molesely… Also notable and emotional was the resolution of Thomas’ arc from footman-you-love-to-hate, to tortured soul, and finally a place of honor on the Grantham estate — which even a somewhat humbled Carson couldn’t argue.

    Not every recurring character we’ve seen over the years will feature in the film, although Highclere Castle will return as the family’s hub.

    Gareth Neame, Carnival’s Executive Chairman and the film’s producer said, “When the television series drew to a close it was our dream to bring the millions of global fans a movie and now, after getting many stars aligned, we are shortly to go into production. Julian’s script charms, thrills and entertains and in Brian Percival’s hands we aim to deliver everything that one would hope for as Downton comes to the big screen.”

    Focus chairman Peter Kujawski adds, “Since the series ended, fans of Downton have long been waiting for the Crawley family’s next chapter. We’re thrilled to join this incredible group of filmmakers, actors and craftspeople, led by Julian Fellowes and Gareth Neame, in bringing back the world of Downton to the big screen.”

    The Downton Abbey movie is a Carnival Films production, with Focus Features and Universal Pictures International distributing. A release date has yet to be announced.

        NatGeo has a piece about Friday & 13 being considered unlucky, but not until last century were the two put together. Czar always mentions that Phillip IV of France started arrests of the Knights Templar on a Friday the 13th, but the NatGeo article states the “unlucky” label is not traditional.

        It’s the Egyptian view of Passover, which happened on the Sabbath, the 14th of Nisan.

        That would be Saturday the 14th for the Jews, for whom the date changes at sundown, not midnight, because Genesis 1 uses, “. . . and there was evening and morning . . .” to describe a 24 hour day.

        But by Gentile day/date reckoning, the death angel would have passed through the land killing all the firstborn in houses not protected by the blood of the lamb on the night of Friday the 13th.

    I get the very real feeling that these Dems are scared out of their minds that Pres. Trump is going to talk to Putin alone. One on Tucker even suggested tonight that he really should have somebody go in with him. Of course, his reasoning was that we, the people, need to know what was said. 😕 What did Obama, Hillery, and the rest of that bunch try to set up with Putin?

      Yeah…Rosenstein needs to know what’s going to be said. I have no doubt that the announcement of the Russian hackers today was intentionally to mess with the President’s trip. Did you notice the defiant and angry way Rosey spoke at the presser? Like “take that, buddy!”

    Our Heavenly Father, Your children come to you tonight to ask for healing and peace throughout our country so that we may return to being One Nation Under God. Guide us to be leaders in Your Kingdom, spreading Your Love and Salvation to all. Forgive us our sins and deliver us from evil.
