Well here it is, reporting on or complsining about looters is RACIST!
https://mic.com/articles/184369/heres-whats-really-behind-the-looter-narrative-during-natural-disasters#.mNEbcxqUU
They even gots two captioned pix from two different sources with no context to prove it! So next time you see those poor and destitute individuals, you know the ones with armloads of new clothes and shoes, wading through a store’s broken doors y’all jes remembers they are wet and starving and new free duds is part of the healing process. Progs don’t want to confront the realities of crime so they work overtime finding ways to excuse the criminals.

Just like the Glover shooting incident during Katrina’s aftermath. Glover was looting when the narrative suited and ‘finding’ or ‘picking something up for a friend’ when it suited.

I doubt seriously Heineken would use that pic like that, they’re too sensitive to market PC. As for the looter we had any number of pix of them floating stuff around NOLA, ingenuity in the face of adversity.

I was watching something where they were showing them running into a shoe store and the idiot actually said, “they are just hungry and many have hungry children, it may not be right, but desperate people commit desperate crimes.”
I guess at least they called it a crime. lol
I guess hungry people and good little Daddy’s will bring their children home some shoe leather to eat.

The likelihood that this is their first rodeo is nil. Someone put in an order for size 14 Air Jordans and that’s what they’ll get at 50-75% off. Selling product is the goal, and maybe keeping a pair for themselves. And that’s what the police will likely be looking at–did the perp steal any AJs in his own size?
LikeLiked by 3 people
You know, I was thinking the same think, and yet they weren’t even smart enough to bring along garbage bags so that they could rescue more shoes. Good thing they aren’t too rocket surgeons.
LikeLiked by 1 person
Maybe, maybe not, you get all kinds stealing anything they can get their hands on when the social controls are off. Food is necessary for survival and obce the store’s flooded can’t be sold but arms full of expensive tennis shoes and flat screen TVs ain’t.
Amazing thing is how, post incident, so many normally civilized and law abiding citizens excuse this behavior. Best I can come up with is they see what the world they wade around in is really like, and it shakes them firmly out of their denial, scares the hell out of them. That excusal helps get them back into their safe place.

Yes it is hard for the civilized to admit that evil or feral people live amongst them, so they stick their head into the sand at every opportunity.

Just that inevitable thinning that will strengthen the tree. Messy but necessary, we have a huge oak thst shades our house in NOLA and even though we had it serviced a few weeks before Katrina we still had limbs break…even took the top out of our magnolia.
I’m betting more cities in south Florida will start trying to control the numbers of non-native trees residents plant as a survey in Miami post-Andrew found that most of the uprooted trees there were not native to south Florida.
LikeLiked by 3 people
We had several trees cut down just weeks ago. I sure am glad it was done before the storm.
LikeLiked by 3 people
One of the big problems with trees blowing down is that many have their tap/support roots cut when they are transplanted so they are generally supported by their network of feeder roots…OK for normal storms but come that big ‘un……
Biggest problem in NOLA is that these hungry Formosan termites get into the trees, eat the heartwood out and that weakens the trees greatly, first big storm andctrees start to split and fall over. Interesting to watch how the big live oaks that were shredded by Katrina have made a great comeback.

A problem in Southern CA is that people put a seedling in 6 inches of dirt, but the soil beneath is hard packed clay, so the tree’s taproot goes sideways. Get a little rain to soften the topsoil, and a 60 foot eucalyptus goes right over in 30 mph winds.
LikeLiked by 1 person
Yeah, I remember the overwhelming…smell…of eucalyptus at El Toro. I didn’t think tipsy eucalyptus was even on the southern Cal problem radar screen…

Czar is sleeping as late as the dogs will let him, what with frequent barking to let us know they see the workers on the property. It costs a lot, but at 67 I never want to have to climb the ladder to paint again, supposed to be a lifetime waranty, at least 30 years. Bright, sunny day with cloudless blue sky, still dry, supposed to be cool thru Friday. Hummingbirds are a little crazy cause I had to move their feeders off the back porch. Happy happy day to y’alll!

Goooood Morning! Thank you Nyet for breakfast. Sausage Gravy!!!! Yeah!
“May I recommend three Maryland beaten biscuits, with water, for your breakfast? They are hard as a haul-seiner’s conscience and dry as a dredger’s tongue, and they sit for hours in your morning stomach like ballast on a tender ship’s keel. They cost little, are easily and crumblessly carried in your pockets, and if forgotten and gone stale, are neither harder nor less palatable than when fresh. What’s more, eaten first thing in the morning and followed by a cigar, they put a crabberman’s thirst on you, such that all the water in a deep neap tide can’t quench — and none, I think, denies the charms of water on the bowels of morning? ”

What a great photo, Stella! (I love black and white.)
So the guys are just having a little snort during the hurricane. The guy in the middle didn’t bother to take off his hat or raincoat, the man on the right has identified as a bar rag so as not to get his shoes wet. There’s a stool next to the juke box so you can sit, listen and ‘put another nickel in’ as required.
However, some kind heart has rescued an empty stool and put it directly on the bar. Lovin’ it.

I love that the good Samaritan didn’t give his name, “Just people ma’am. Just people who love God and want to help.” I doubt he’ll be on Facebook bragging about his good deeds. A true Christian.
Mathew 6:2
So when you give to the needy, do not sound a trumpet before you, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and on the streets, to be praised by men. Truly I tell you, they already have their reward.

Good Morning everyone 🙂 Thank you for breakfast, lovely images, and smiles.Today’s painting for Tipsy Tuesday:
https://imgur.com/Ix9FNk3
Escaping criticism. From 2002 to 2011, this painting went on an international tour, visiting exhibitions devoted to trompe l’oeil in Sweden, Germany, Italy, Japan and the United States
Pere Borrell del Caso (1835 – 1910) was a Spanish painter, illustrator and engraver, known for his trompe l’oeil paintings; especially “Escaping Criticism” (1874). His father was a cabinetmaker. It was by this means that he was able to support his studies at the School of Fine Arts. He also painted portraits, which made up the bulk of his work, and created religious murals in the Nazarene style. These, however, were all destroyed during the Spanish Civil War. He exhibited throughout Spain and at the Exposition Universelle (1878). He was twice offered a professorship at the Escola de la Llotja, but preferred to teach at his own private art school. His children, Julio and Ramón, both became painters of some note.
I pray for safety for those in the storm’s path, for everyone in harm’s way, and for those who will die today, especially for those without time to prepare.
I will be busy for the next month, and want everyone to know how much I appreciate your comments even though I may not respond.Thank You. I also want to try and put together some comments for the 100th anniversary of the Miracle at Fatima, which I believe is one of the most historic events of history.
See everyone later! 🙂

Our Heavenly Father, Your children come to you tonight to ask for healing and peace throughout our country so that we may return to being One Nation Under God. Guide us to be leaders in Your Kingdom, spreading Your Love and Salvation to all. Forgive us our sins and deliver us from evil.
Lord, we ask for a blanket of protection over all our troops and law enforcement who serve to defend and protect us. Bless our representatives with the strength and wisdom they need to achieve the path You have chosen for us.
Please place Your Guardian Angels of Protection around Donald Trump and Mike Pence and their families as they seek to lead America back to You.
Grant us patience, Lord, as the evil ones try to anger us and cause us to fall.
Spread blessings over Israel and Netanyahu.
We humbly ask that You please comfort those who are grieving and in pain.
Thank you Father, for Your Love and the gift of Life.
And, Lord, we pray for help for the people of Texas and Louisiana who are caught in the flooding. And, now we add everyone in the path of Irma to our prayer for safety.
