All right kids. Last day of the month, and a Friday to boot. Lots of fun stuff going on out there. People gettin’ fired for having too big a mouth. Immunity deals??? Hide-n-seek with documents. Quite a week, but never forget that a whole lot of fun stuff usually drops on Friday afternoon. Better get your energy levels up for a long day. I’m headin’ to Rancho el Gordito for the weekend with Mrs. T, so y’all will have to fend for yourselves over the weekend. Coffee up y’all. 😀

I discovered this lady, because someone mentioned Beck (Glenn) on the last open thread.

      This lady is phenomenal.

Geddy Lee, Flea, Bootsy Collins, Les Claypool, Victor Wooten.

You’ve all been bumped down on my list of favorite bassists.

Look, none of the bassists I just mentioned have absolutely perfect breasts.

And, that has absolutely nothing to do with my decision to de-rank all my previous favorites. Her technique is absolutely amazing, and has, as is the trend with music, borrowed from, and been influenced by, those greats, who were pioneers in the field, despite not having absolutely perfect breasts.

“There is a class of colored people who make a business of keeping the troubles, the wrongs, and the hardships of the Negro race before the public. Some of these people do not want the Negro to lose his grievances, because they do not want to lose their jobs. There is a certain class of race-problem solvers who don’t want the patient to get well.” Booker T. Washington

Homeless ‘Spitting Lady’ had $19K on her when arrested

    She’s filthy rich.

The homeless woman who has been spitting on Upper East Side residents was carrying more than $19,133 in cash on her when she was arrested Thursday for allegedly attacking a child, sources said.

Hilda Barrion — nicknamed “The Spitting Lady of 77th Street” — was picked up at around 7 a.m. on East 78th Street and told officers she had amassed her fortune by collecting bottles and cans, the sources said.

Apparently spitting on a seven year old child was the limit. I don’t understand why crazy people are allowed to roam the streets for weeks years, accosting passersby, without any action being taken. After all, what she did was criminal. It is called assault.

Reminded me of the comment that Wooly made the other day about how he wishes Barack Obama would repent. If Saul of Tarsus did, why not Barack? This talks about how to recognize an evil heart, what is true repentance, and what is justice.

I’ll take a little side track here, but it is related. In my opinion it is absolutely critical for a parent to allow their children, to force their children, to suffer the just repercussions of bad behavior from childhood through the teen years, and into being an adult.

If you want to teach a child right from wrong, do not cover for them, ease their way, or in any way justify their wrong behavior. Sometimes this can be the very hardest part of parenthood. The hardest parts are often the most important parts.

Of course, it goes without saying that you model the right behavior. Won’t do any good to hold your teenager accountable for skipping school when they witness you calling out to work so you can go shopping.

And I agree with you 100% in hoping and praying for conversions from the worst of sinners. I watched such a conversion unfold once a very long time ago. The person was not truly choosing evil for the sake of evil, they were however, lost in self indulgence and this led them to a really bad lifestyle and many mistakes, sins, and even jail. They chose to confront their own failure and start over, and as far as I know from the contact I have, never fell back into that lifestyle.

More recently I worked with a young woman who wore an ankle bracelet. She faced drug charges. She was rock bottom, and I watched, coached a little, cheered a lot, her rebuild her life, find a better job with true potential, get married, get her son back, and begin school to aid in progressing in her career. Both situations happened only after people were held accountable.

My mother said that her “born again” experience in the 1950’s was 100% due to seeing the true repentance of my aunt’s husband as he was dying. Others in our family also were convinced by his true acceptance of justice (in his case, death due to alcohol abuse) and repentance.

It was a very hard thing for me to do and sometimes I had stop myself from helping my son. The truth is, though, he was so good I wondered if he had had enough situations to learn from his mistakes. But, he has turned out even better than I had hoped.

I had to smile at him when I visited the last time. He had been pretty strict with his 18 mo. old daughter a few days before when she wanted to feed the dog from the table. The first time was an accident. The second, he told her no. And, the third he took the food out of her hand and she jerked away from him and reached for more. So, he took all the food away and put her down from the table. LOL She wouldn’t have anything to do with him the rest of the evening. It about broke his heart, he said. I told him there would be more scenes like that.

This makes me think of a scene in last night’s episode of Lilies. One of the daughters does something she shouldn’t have and goes to confession (the girls are Catholic). She tells the priest what she did and he says, “So, you came to confession because you feel guilty.” And, she says, “No, because I don’t.” In the next scene she is leaving the confessional booth (I guess it is called) and passes her sisters who are waiting on her and says, “I’ll be a while.”

      • Menagerie says:

Wow, do I ever like that example. It’s when we don’t feel the guilt that we most need the grace. A tricky situation for the priest, as it is a requirement that there be true repentance to receive absolution. Again, that pesky word justice pops in my mind here. There must be justice.

However, there are times when a person must bring their will to bear on their actions, and with the aid of a well formed conscience, choose the right path when they don’t want to, knowing by grace the right from the wrong.

I’m glad you shared that, it’s providing me with some needed ponderings.

      Romans 16:17-18
17 Now I urge you, brethren, keep your eye on those who cause dissensions and hindrances contrary to the teaching which you learned, and turn away from them.18 For such men are slaves, not of our Lord Christ but of their own appetites; and by their smooth and flattering speech they deceive the hearts of the unsuspecting.

      Psalm 5:9

      There is nothing reliable in what they say;
Their inward part is destruction itself.
      Their throat is an open grave;
      They flatter with their tongue.

    1. Evil hearts are experts at creating confusion and contention.
    2. Evil hearts are experts at fooling others with their smooth speech and flattering words.
    3. Evil hearts crave and demand control, and their highest authority is their own self-reference.
    4. Evil hearts play on the sympathies of good-willed people, often trumping the grace card.
    5. Evil hearts have no conscience, no remorse.

Go to Destructoid.com (a good, non-SJW gamer site). Even the in-article photos have ads that pop up in them. The bottom of your screen has another one. The bottom-right has a video. Just to read an essay or article you have to click at least four “x” buttons on ads, some with annoying music. Every picture contains an ad. Every single picture in every single article. I like the site a lot for the content, but you sure do need good mouse skills. I guess it’s irony that the site itself is a videogame.

You should look into the Brave browser, as I’ve mentioned before.

Folks can donate through the browser itself. The story of this browser is cool. Like the guy who landed a spacecraft remotely onto an actual comet, and was forced to resign in tears because he wore an anime-girl print tee-shirt at the resultant press conference and was subsequently hounded out of a job by screaming SJWs, the guy who made, and is making, this browser was forced to resign after inventing Mozilla and Firefox, among many other innovations, because someone hacked into some computers in California’s government, and found out he donated to Prop 8 (one man, one woman = marriage).

So he made this browser, which is better by far. Based on Chromium.

We’re going to replace all of their institutions. Then we’re going to exclude them.

Infogalactic and Gab.ai will never be SJW-converged.

The SID chip was a work of genius, and it’s limits were pushed hard.

This predates the Sega Genesis, with it’s fancy stereo FM sound.

SID had four voices which could make sound simultaneously. Three FM synths and a white noise generator for kicks, snares, and hi-hats.

What the sound genius hackers did with this chip was amazing.

I became far less impressed with videogame music when CDs became the media of choice for game consoles. Recording a symphony orchestra for your game is not as impressive as making one with four monophonic FM voices. Or six stereo PCM voices, in the case of the Super Nintendo.

This is special, and not stock c64. Active scene, indeed.

Ok. At the very beginning of that video, when you see the text on the screen sliding to the side, off the screen. In 1989, that’s just not possible. No way. But somehow they did it. Commodore 128 hackers came up with three or four new colors. Remember, at this time we’re dealing with actual cathode ray tube monitors. New colors! A freakin’ decade after the C128 and it’s associated devices (1541, 1571, etc.) were dead and gone, some crazy enthusiasts made new colors on a c128.

      That’s why I love people.

    lilbirdee12’s prayer:

Our Heavenly Father, Your children come to you tonight to ask for healing and peace throughout our country so that we may return to being One Nation Under God. Guide us to be leaders in Your Kingdom, spreading Your Love and Salvation to all. Forgive us our sins and deliver us from evil.

Lord, we ask for a blanket of protection over all our troops and law enforcement who serve to defend and protect us. Bless our representatives with the strength and wisdom they need to achieve the path You have chosen for us.

Please place Your Guardian Angels of Protection around Donald Trump and Mike Pence and their families as they seek to lead America back to You.

Grant us patience, Lord, as the evil ones try to anger us and cause us to fall.
Spread blessings over Israel and Netanyahu.

We humbly ask that You please comfort those who are grieving and in pain.
Thank you Father, for Your Love and the gift of Life.

In Jesus name, we pray. Amen

I have three female red headed woodpeckers arguing for nesting teiiritory in my yard. Ya know, when that’s the worst you can say about your day it’s been a pretty good day.
