One of the first rats to leave the ship?

        If this is true

… the US Department of Justice filed an asset-seizure complaint in federal court pertaining to a Malaysian fund that backed Red Granite Pictures — a production company behind the DiCaprio film “The Wolf of Wall Street.

And it is said that Decaprio is mentioned in the filing 2 for 3 times as “Actor 1” then Decaprio’s attorneys would have access to the filing and would have wisely told him abandon ship.

I am fine all of you. Thanks for asking. I have been out most of the day catching up on errands. I have stayed at the computer and the scanner for two straight days and nights. Needed to make a dump run. [No trash pick up here] I also got lucky and caught the cat from he*& that was in my shop and returned it to the lady I got it from. I stopped at the feed store to see how donations were going. The people in this area are amazing! They have filled two cargo trailers and more coming in every hour. One of the lumber distributors in Spokane that the Hardware store deals with heard we needed help. A full pallet of bottled water is on its way. While I was at the dump[actually a transfer station] I decided to check out there metal recycling area. The man who runs the place is the friend who lost everything in the fire. A large truck had just dumped a large load of metal. Low and behold there were 9 rolls of barbed wire sitting there still on the spools. 5 rolls were brand new. I grabbed them all and went back to the office. My friend had lost all of his livestock fencing. He was thrilled to see the wire. We loaded it all into his rig so he can start fencing again. It has been a truly blessed day!

Thank you. Everyone donating was so wound up and asking what else was needed. We are going to wait a couple of days so we can get sex, sizes, and ages of clothes needed so we don’t load up with items we will have to transfer to another donation group. We have plenty of needy people in our community, but we want to take care of the people who have lost everything first.

      • So glad to hear from you. It sounds like you had a very productive and positive day! I had an evil cat years ago. The vet said it was probably inbred, I swear it was psycho. It was an attack cat. That’s really terrific about the barbed wire! What are the odds of that? Great timing! Glad you’re safe and sound. Is there info on how to donate to help?

We have not gotten into money donations at this time. We still don’t know what is gone and what is still there. A lot of people have still not been allowed back in. It looks like we only lost a total of 8-10 homes. That sounds like a lot, but there were hundreds of homes in the fires path. Sounds like they lost 13 on the Reservation side of the fire. Still waiting for more info.

Actually, I am just one of many. The FFA kids have gotten into it now and they do an awesome job. Our county fair is this week and they are going to be collecting donations at the fair too. The expresso stand in town and the family owned grocery store are giving free coffee to first responders and evacuees. Offers of pasture ground and hay are coming in from various farmers and ranchers for people with displaced livestock and those who lost all of their feed. I love living in this community, it reminds me the way things used to be.

POtuS landed in Baton Rouge – was met at airport by slimy populist Rat gov and heavily REPUBLICAN vice-gov who was president of a flooded parish during Katrina. Guess which one kissed the ring?
POtuS was immediately driven to a carefully chosen flood-damaged neighborhood that had photogenic piles of rubble which provided appropriate photo-ops that will show his caring nature while streets were clean so as not to dirty his loafers. No word yet as to if happy groups of mud-sweeping natives sang secular hymns and songs of praise as he passed.
General consensus is that once he’s gone the easiest part of the post-flood trash removal will be done.

Listening to the POtuS’s speechnto the flooded (it’s local, can’t get away from it) the first thing I noticed is that they pucked a black neighborhood for him to tour but the biggest thong was how absolutely incapable he is of verbally expressing remorse, msympsthy or anymother warm human emotion. His speech sounded like…oh, I don’t know…some thug trying to explain why he feels nothing about having shot his girlfriend for dissin’ him. The huge block of ‘see how much betterer I Am than Bush’ and thinly disguised self-serving politics laid heavy but amongst his slavish followers he was the bright spit (thought I’d leave that in, autocomplete did that and who am I to question it?) spot of the day. They were temporarily distracted from their problems and misery by a guy who would have trouble caring less.

Yes Sir, doing fine. Been busy catching up on chores that have been neglected the last two days. The fires are still less than 10% contained, but they have really settled down. The Governor just declared a state of emergency so we should be able to get state money for the people who lost so much. A lot of houses were saved by our terrific fire fighters, but a lot of fencing and a bunch of out buildings were lost. 5 horses have been recovered alive and well. 10 head of cattle the same. 2 missing dogs were found[1 very pregnant female] and are completely healthy. Amazing stories of neighbors using tractor to save peoples houses.

I put on the local news and hear that a two year old boy has fallen out of a window and died.

    But wait.

The neighbor says what is really weird is that the family had been looking for the boy for half an hour before they found him.

The theory goes the two and half year old boy somehow managed to hang himself in a first story window. Not sure what the details are but a teenage uncle was babysitting the boy at the grandma’s house and no adults were home.

2-year-old boy becomes stuck, dies after apparently climbing out window near 40th & Wright

I have discussed the existence of these type of flights for quite a while; Bob and I both talked about them during San Bern, but this is the first time I have ever seen them spoken of being utilized by local LEO. I’m guessing the FBI “loaned” the City of Baltimore the time which is why it was stated to be “provided by an anon donor”.

Privacy issues in regards to these flights? Or in general to domestic LEO surveillance?

That is a bit of a loaded question(s)… but I’d gladly invite the discussion. At the end of the day I believe there should be ethical oversight for any type of surveillance being conducted on US Citizens. And there is the rub; “ethical oversight”!

The technology is fascinating and impressive. The question is (I think) if it is a violation of privacy to photograph public spaces. Is my backyard a public space? I don’t know.

That is an interesting legal standing. What if they were tracking a known felon who happened to hop your fence into the backyard; does that violate one’s privacy and/or private property?

It’s inferred tech; what if it caught you and Mr Stella taking a stress relieving break in your own backyard pool house while following said felon?

It is definitely a delicate issue. I just know that the FBI is conducting these types of flights regularly and that is based off of a good bit of research I personally have done once the existence was known and even tied to the Stingrays.

I haven’t read the article yet but the first two things that come to my mind are 1) air rights, all air in most states 80 – 500 feet above the tallest structure on the land and/or the highest natural protrusion is owned by the feds. 2) Precedent. Police have used helicopters for decades and viewed and made available to the public for viewing people’s properties which are unrelated to the perpetrator being pursued in the search.

It looks like an interesting article but I might have to wait until tomorrow to read it.

Italy quake: ‘People trapped under rubble’ following 6.0 magnitude tremor which rocked heart of the country

    http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2016/08/24/italy-quake-64-magnitude-tremor-rocks-perugia/

A magnitude 6.0 earthquake struck central Italy early on Wednesday, with reports of damaged buildings and blackouts near the epicentre Rieti and residents fleeing their homes and running into the streets.

The shallow quake, estimated to have struck after 3:30am at a depth of 4km, was felt across a broad section of central Italy, including the capital Rome where people in homes in the historic centre felt a long swaying followed by aftershocks.

The European Mediterranean Seismological Centre put the magnitude at 6.1 and said the epicentre was northeast of Rome, near Rieti. The US Geological Survey put the magnitude at 6.2.
