Ever SecState has known about every arms transfer under every POTUS, it’s how the system operates. Go back to the Iran Contra mess, you think Haig and Schultz didn’t know about the arms transfers to all the players? The Secretary has to know of all the dirt or s/he ends up falling into a political hole in dealing with foreign nations as the US’s prime rep in the international field.
The Sec has to lie to protect the POTUS and the nation, plausable deniability, on the public side. On the private nation-to-nation side things go on out of sight of the Great Unwashed, sorta like how China and Russia didn’t do all that much about our operations in certain countries while we wink at a lot of their stuff.
What bugs me about Hillary is she’s the only SecState in modern history who had the post as a known and planned stepping stone to the presidency. When she was lying she wasn’t lying to protect the country and government, she was lying to protect her political ass. SecStates have been directly responsible for American deaths, military and civilian, in the past but that’s largely a ‘national security’ matter. The deaths under Hillary seem to be centered around furthering her political interests as opposed to the nation’s.

And don’t forget in Afghanistan, those SAM missile that were in those arms shipments. She directly caused the deaths of two 1 Cav scout pilots, maybe that CH-47D that was taken out also…..

I’ve posted on this before, the military is the pawn of the government. Thousands upon thousands of WWII US POWs in Germany sacrificed to the Russians, the US crews on recon planes testing Russian and Chinese defenses who were shot down sacrificed, the VN war POWs sacrificed…all with the willing and active machinations of State and Congress. We were and are expendable tools in the diplomatic process.

Good morning! As the Colonel pointed out, it’s very dark this morning (always darkest before the dawn?). It will be another hot and sunny day today in my neighborhood, but right now it’s a very pleasant 67 degrees.
DJ Trump has one event, this morning at 11:00 am in Ashburn, VA, while Mike Pence has two events in Arizona; the first is in Tucson at 2:00 pm, and the second in Phoenix at 7:00 pm (MT).
In August – Poem by Paul Laurence Dunbar
When August days are hot an’ dry,
When burning copper is the sky,
I ‘d rather fish than feast or fly
In airy realms serene and high.
I ‘d take a suit not made for looks,
Some easily digested books,
Some flies, some lines, some bait, some hooks,
Then would I seek the bays and brooks.
I would eschew mine every task,
In Nature’s smiles my soul should bask,
And I methinks no more could ask,
Except–perhaps–one little flask.
In case of accident, you know,
Or should the wind come on to blow,
Or I be chilled or capsized, so,
A flask would be the only go.
Then could I spend a happy time,–
A bit of sport, a bit of rhyme
(A bit of lemon, or of lime,
To make my bottle’s contents prime).
When August days are hot an’ dry,
I won’t sit by an’ sigh or die,
I ‘ll get my bottle (on the sly)
And go ahead, and fish, and lie!

Morning Stella, Menagerie, USmom, and Stellars all! I got back last night from 10 days in the Alaska bush (ie, off the road system) where internet was spotty and I had no cell phone bars at all. I missed you guys a bunch! I even missed next door. But got to do a bunch of salmon fishing (subsistence style with a drift net, not rod-and-reel) and a little berry picking. The best part was seeing old friends and reconnecting. But good to be home and back in my regular groove. I’ve got a lot of catching up to do.

On another note, may have to ride night herd, neighbors lost a calf. Game warden says coyotes maybe 4-5 took this calf down.

Turned another feral pig into ffeezer fodder, pigs are a bigger problem than coyotes right now. Been a while since the neighboring ranches with cattle have lost a calf, at one time the yotes were so bold they’d drag the carcass out into the road to eat it. Good hunting and disease have taken them way down and we intend to keep it that way.

It’s a tradeoff. I have to go 7 miles to a gas station, 14 miles to a Walmart, 45 to a Starbucks (OK, no big loss there), 15 to a theater but I have dark skies, no extraneous noise but frogs, crickets and trains far away. I don’t have to go to a park, I live in one and my food’s all around me – it either walks, swims, flies or grows here. It’s a choice, one many of my friends in the city can’t make or accept.

I had the worst breakfast this morning. We had to do chores and leave as we had to be somewhere very early, so no breakfast at home and went through a fast food drive-thru and got a ham and cheese biscuit. It was not fit to eat, hard biscuit, dried out ham or something posing as ham. I took one bite and about gagged, my husband who hates to waste anything tried to eat his, but could only stomach about half of it before he gave up.
I don’t know how people get fat eating fast food, I’d die of starvation if I had to eat that stuff.

Pope Francis says that Islam is not violent, that it is a religion of peace, and that Islam is not waging a religious war against Christian values.
Islam responds,
Pope Francis “has struggled against reality” in his efforts to portray Islam as a religion of peace, the article insists, before going on to urge all Muslims to take up the sword of jihad, the “greatest obligation” of a true Muslim.
“Indeed, waging jihad – spreading the rule of Allah by the sword – is an obligation found in the Quran, the word of our Lord,” it reads.

Everything seems upside down, backwards, inside out, crazy-making. I feel like I went to sleep and woke up in an alternate reality, or I’m in some kind of endless nightmare. In this instance, the ISIS response is the statement that sounds accurate and real. What the Pope said sounds like fantasy.

I guess when your army consists of a handfull of Swiss mercenaries, you’re stuck in a ‘bend over and turn the other cheek’ mode and your top priority is getting the US to continue funding faild Latin/South American cultures you just don’t have time for those nagging problems like Islam trying to destroy you. Pope better wise-up to the growth rates of Islamic conversions in his native lands too.

Latestbthing is a pic of Trump eating KFC while using a knife and fork. Inside Edition ran a piece where they asked fine KFC diners enjoying gourmet bird-in-a-box with choice sides in styrofoam containers what they thought of Trump eating fried bird with knife and fork. The chic T-shirt clad gourmands, after wiping grease and crumbs from their faces and fingers, universally and predictably were appalled at his breach of fast food nanners.
I presume none of them are Euro jetsetters as it’s quite common there to see people eating sandwiches, and a lot of what we’d eat with our fingers, by using a knife and fork. OK, the Europeans, no telling what the new immigrants eat with their fingers.
Why didn’t they ask the present family occupying the WH? Oh yeah, asking them how they eat fried chicken woulb be racist while asking a white guy with manners is…….
Then a few minutes later they ran a piece slut-shaming Melania for those nude pix she shot some 21 years ago, shaming Trump even though he didn’t even know she existed at the time. A few minutes later thevrun a piece on some young Hollywppd ingenue thing who shot nudie pix for some glamor magazine, even used the same red banners on her naughty bits as thry did on Melania’s, and praised her for her work. Helloooooooo……?

Maybe he had his chicken with mashed potatoes and gravy, and cole slaw. Nobody eats those with their hands.

The sides were still in the containers while a lump of whatblooks like ‘extra crispy’ was alone on a plate with Trump, fighting utensils in hand, was poised to do battle. When they asked the urban epicuriens de poulet frit about it the Inside Edition talking heads held up the max-security prison plastic knife and spork the KFC provides and marveled about how no diners there were using them. Aside from the issue that some of the diners presented as just barely able to use their fingers to eat (now you know why KFC doesn’t offer soup), NASA hasn’t figured out how to use a @&$#% spork.

Bet money he don’t use a spork, either. I DON’T. But, I have a whole roll of paper towels handy for when I eat like a dog.

I eat as the situation calls for but I don’t fault folks for being messy or drumstick-up-the-Arse unless they’re splashing on me or getting nadty about my splashing on them.

Flash from the Wash Post: Trimp reguses to suppirt Ryan or McCain in their ipcoming election bids. Well duh, that gets my vote, I don’t support them either. Hey, John and Paul, go get a real job and let Republicans take your seats in November.

Did you see that Trump said, “I’m just not quite there yet” about Ryan :D.
MSM going mad calling Trump a backstabber.

Ryan, McCain and especially the MSM should be well acquainted with backstabbing, if not recognizing one.

Is it possible that Nehlen may knock Ryan out in the primary? After Pence walked the rail and shook hands in Waukesha, Scott followed. Rumor has it that Nehlen extended his hand to Scott and when Scott saw it was Nehlen he withdrew his hand.
I didn’t even see Nehlen there, let alone the exchange between him and Scott, but from the look on the face of the guy witnessing it this was not a normal exchange of a handshake.
If Scott was that rude, it is because their internal polling numbers are so bad they may not even be able to steal the election.
Kansas is looking good for Marshal! Imagine if this is really the year we kick the posers to the curb.

Another newcomer wins.
Eric Greitens wins expensive, bruising GOP primary for Missouri Governor
ST. LOUIS COUNTY (KTVI) – Political newcomer Eric Greitens aimed high in his first bid for elective office and came out on top Tuesday as Missouri’s GOP candidate for Governor, according to Associated Press projections.
Greitens, a retired Navy SEAL and one-time Democrat, topped Lt. Governor Peter Kinder, former Missouri House Speaker Catherine Hanaway, and businessman John Brunner in a campaign that featured relatively few demonstrable policy differences among those in the field, but still saw an expensive, and at times bitter campaign that has had national attention for more than a year.
The race had been in a statistical dead heat into the final days.
