Had to go into town earlier tjis evening, about half the trip’s on a dirt/macadam barely two-lane road, then it turns into a blacktop standard two lane hiway. On the way back I turned off of the hiway and onto the macadam, had to slow down as it had rained and the road was slippery. Just about 1/4 mile down I see a box on the road, just on the pavement. It wasn’t there a half hour back when I came by, but now these it is. I slowed down as I approached it and something was popping up and down around the open top, so I stopped and got out…it was a puppy. Someone had abandoned a small black lab-mix pup, about 6 weeks old, in that box on the road.
I couldn’t leave it there in the middle of nowhere so I put it on my lap and started to drive home. I hadn’t gone a mile before it crawled up my shirt, laid down behind my neck between my neck and the headrest and put its nose in my ear. Looks like we have another dog.

Lucky pup! Couldn’t have found a better home.
God was surely in charge of that encounter.

I do seriously wonder why and how these dogs and cats find us. All three of the dogs here just immediately accepted the pup, no growling, and it moved in and follows us like it’s been here all along.
It’s a big house and a big farm, a small dog won’t take up thst much space.

Sometimes they’ll eat them though. lol
My son-in-law has an English bulldog, goofiest dog you ever saw, when he was a pup I was dogsitting and some folks had paid for a baby goat, I came in and laid the money on the bench as you walk through the front door. Came back to get it and that darn pup had all the money in the floor, all of it was just slobbered except for one $20 bill and all that was left of it was one small corner.
One day my son-in-law was working on his car and the dog took off with a wrench, to this day he hasn’t found that wrench. I think it was too big to eat, so I figure he buried it somewhere. lol
My grandson loves that goofy dog though and the goofy dog loves my grandson.

When Zauber was a pup he got my duty Glock 23 and chewed the gripmall to hades. I sent it back to Glock for repair and told them ‘my German Shepherd chewed the hell out of your Austrian gun’. They replaced the frame for $35, put free night-sights on it and had a good laugh.

When my Brittany was a pup, she was a heck of a chewer. She never chewed a gun, but did chew a cupboard door and plaster off the corners of the kitchen walls, and almost through the wooden slats in the child gate. She could also climb a plastic puppy play yard enclosure (in about 30 seconds) and the other child gate made of honeycomb plastic. Fortunately, she never tried to climb a chain link fence.

Judt wish that people were a bit more responsible with their animals. Even out here we have a low-to-no cost spay/neuter and low cost shots and chip program but far too many folks just let their pets roll along without proper care.

People are nuts.
About 10 years ago my mom and her neighbor had a huge rummage sale and they donated al the money to a spay/neuter low kill shelter. They had signs up at their sale about where the money was going. Some guy got out of his car, walked up to the sale and went nuts, he started yelling literally screaming that people had no right to mutilate animals! He told us that we needed to neuter ourselves not dogs 😂.
My mom’s friend was a big woman, a hunter and afraid of nothing, she got up out of her lawn chair and started walking toward the screamer, he ran back to his car got in and took off.
He then drove by again screaming stuff out of the window of his car.

Sounds like the screamer should have been directed to the closest chlorpromazine dispenser and then to the spay/neuter clinic.

It is unfortunate. I’m not an animal rights activist, but I have compassion for defenseless animals that suffer needlessly. It’s hard to wrap my head around, but the same people who treat animals with disregard probably treat their fellow man much the same. Thank you for being there for that pup, I’m glad he’s blended in to your family so beautifully!

At least they put it in a box.
They are never that kind when they dump them off around here. I do not keep them though, can’t or I’d have a dog farm, but I do always manage to find them a home.

The GGS now has a pup at his mom’s house and one here, small kids and pups just go together.
The house is big and there’s plenty of room on the farm with plenty of things forvthem to do. The border collie’s getting old and the pit mix is you g and needs a cohort, not so much one of the older two, so that works out.
We are members of the local shelter so we usually take the throwouts there, they have arrangements with other shelters around the US and regularly send their surplus dogs/cats there, this one seems to have meant to be here.
LikeLiked by 6 people
The shelters around here will only take them if you live in town and require proof with a utility bill.
There are a few groups but they will never take them and instead want me to foster them and then let them find them a home. I tried that once and they kept turning everyone down for stupid reasons, the most stupid one was because the parents both worked during the day and the kids were in school, so the dog would be alone for 8 hours.
So it’s just easier to find them homes on my own.
I already have two livestock guardian dogs, plus my two yard dogs that guard the house and a house dog.
I have the room, just not the desire for any more dogs.lol

I knew that most were like that, I had ran into it before and knew people who had ran into it.
I hoped for a different outcome, but it wasn’t to be.
I’m not very well liked by them anyway because I’m evil and sell animals.
LikeLiked by 2 people
You have to pay to surrender an animal here. Their screening process is arduous to say the least but the shelter is clean the animals are well taken care of and the staff seems to really love animals and aren’t there just to collect a paycheck.
LikeLiked by 2 people
They don’t even give you that option and you are automatically told if you don’t live in the city limits you’re out of luck.
The good thing is I’ve noticed fewer dogs dumped this summer.

Good morning, all. Stella, I’m glad to see the last of those black balloons. If anyone here watched, did the Dems manage to drop red, white and blue balloons? Every time I’d see the black balloons, it would get me thinking crazy thoughts about possible DNC balloon-drops. My best scenario was a series of balloon drops following their beloved theme of diversity: a wave of Mexican-flag-colors balloons, a wave of rainbow-colors balloons, a wave for the immigrants (Syrian colors?), a wave for BLM (the black ones with writing on them), a wave of nice, red Communist ones, and maybe at the end, a few red, white and blue ones (just in case someone might notice if they were missing.)

Do you think that Hillary is so naturally unlikable, (no one in Arkansas liked her even decades ago) that she had some acting lessons to try and learn how to look and act likable or human? It is as if she is trying to emote an acceptable expression not as if she is experiencing the emotion she is trying to portray on her face.
She is in my opinion devoid of normal compassionate or even joyful emotions. Everything for Hillary is about how she can advance her hold on power, increase bank accounts and the cash in her basement.

Trump should attract a lot of soldiers from Ft Carson and airpersons from the various commands at Peterson AFB in the Springs. Denver has a large prog/Left Coast population but he should be able to draw from the surrounding area. Maybe a few of thectransplant progs there will hear him, have an epiphany and start thecreturn to the more conservative Colorado we knew years ago. I doubt it, but we can always hope.

The nice thing about Colorado is that it is mostly really small towns. Even the bigger towns (like Durango) aren’t really very big. I think small towns tend to be more conservative, but I could be wrong.
LikeLiked by 1 person
They tend to be but the progs have heavily infected the cities along the Front Range and are heavily running the show. The ski towns are infected with Hollyork virus and their followers ( reminds me of the series The Strain) and Denver seems to be the capital of the Left Slope.

One of my favorite toys as a child was Baby Brite Eyes. When I squeezed her hand her eyes glowed an awesome blue. I was never a good sleeper so I would wait for my sisters to fall asleep and raise BBE with her hair brushed straight up Don King style above their beds with her eyes glowing and wake them up.
I thought it was tremendous fun, my parents and sisters not so much 😀
I think I was about 4 when my mom started praying that someday I have to raise a child just like myself.

I had a set like that, but it was The Man From U.N.C.L.E. It has a secret spot you could place the gun and fire from inside the case, a hand grenade that worked with caps, and a few other really cool things. I have never seen another like it. My Dad had a friend that had a clearing house for prototype toys. My brother and I had a lot of cool toys I wish I would have kept.

Sionics company made a briefcase like that you could use to fire an MAC-10 hidden inside. They were banned by the government – called an ‘assassination device ‘ – after the same government had bought its fill.

Thanks Oldaiguy.
I saw about the San Diego Officers earlier today, one dead and one fighting for his life, one suspect in custody. RIP officer, thank you for answering your last call. God’s healing to the other officer. I support the death penalty for the perpetrator of any officer shot in the line of duty.
I haven’t been keeping up with the Bland case.
I remember when the Sharp children first ran away and that they were so fearful of their mother’s rage that they hid her guns in case she caught them escaping. Something was not right in that home from the little I have read I believe Odalis Sharp was abusive and used the name of God to carry out that abuse. SMH.

I saw this cross yesterday and it is huge, you can see it for miles and is very noticeable from the HWY, which is very busy with travelers from out of state. I expect to hear a lot of complaints from libtards and atheists.

There’s a MONSTROUS one across the hwy. from the cemetery here – it’s been there for years, and no complaints as far as I know. I have no idea how tall it is, this pic is an aerial view.

I heard on the radio that ACLU issued a statement that they are monitoring the situation. I agree with the radio guy, “what are they monitoring? It is on private land and it’s not a situation.”

Their project is similar to the one called the Groom Cross, in Texas. It was put up in 1995 and stands right off I-40. Driving toward a cross like this at night is really something, since you can see it lit up from so far away.

I don’t think this one is lit up, although that may be in the plans. We stopped though and got out and looked at it, the trucks and people still doing dirt work around it looked like fleas and we were only about 50 feet from it.
The cool thing is I can even see it from my house, which it’s only about 8 or 9 miles from me.

Welllllll, it does probably occupy publicly-owned airspace so Hillary could have any number of Federal sgencies remove it as a sop to the million or so jihadis she plans on resettling here. All she really needs is a way to sugar-coat it for the Christian Rat livestock they’ve been tending lo these decades. Infustrial strength duplicitous gorgon that she be some soothing lies and a truck full of free stuff should smooth the way.

If it was my cross and my land, I’d tell Hillary and all the special snowflakes to kiss my a$$, but then I’m not very nice anymore.

I was only half kidding, the Feds have been looking at the ‘our airspace brgins where your ground ends’ route to stop us from prescribed burns. They look at the air from where the ground ends as their personal property and use it like a club, inventing new and convoluted interpretations of laws and regulations to beat land owners over the head. They’ll get around to using the various air regulations to get religious icons removed from public display when the final push starts.

A localish water district was formed to deal with getting that chemically treated crap that passes for drinking water to the ruralish areas. As they grew they decided that they were going to make a grab and demand total control over the farm lakes, ponds, streams and rivers. When they went to the state with their demands not only was there a battalion of POd farmers and ranchers but more than one state senator said they’d be out on their property prepared to defend by whatever means necessary theircwater supplies.

Just got this email from the Social Security Administration:
Starting in August 2016, Social Security is adding a new step to protect your privacy as a my Social Security user. This new requirement is the result of an executive order for federal agencies to provide more secure authentication for their online services. Any agency that provides online access to a customer’s personal information must use multifactor authentication.
When you sign in at ssa.gov/myaccount with your username and password, we will ask you to add your text-enabled cell phone number. The purpose of providing your cell phone number is that, each time you log in to your account with your username and password, we will send you a one-time security code you must also enter to log in successfully to your account.
Each time you sign into your account, you will complete two steps:
Step 1: Enter your username and password.
Step 2: Enter the security code we text to your cell phone (cell phone provider’s text message and data rates may apply).
The process of using a one-time security code in addition to a username and password is one form of “multifactor authentication,” which means we are using more than one method to make sure you are the actual owner of your account.
If you do not have a text-enabled cell phone or you do not wish to provide your cell phone number, you will not be able to access your my Social Security account.
If you are unable or choose not to use my Social Security, there are other ways you can contact us. To learn more, please review the Frequently Asked Questions found here.
Jerks.

I totally agree. My bank doesn’t require my cell phone number. Why does the government need it? And why should I have to have particular telephone service in order to use my internet account?

That’s b.s. too. I suppose you have to telephone the local office and stay on hold for hours, and even then you can’t access the info that you can on line.

BTW do you remember awhile back when the idiots screwed up and anyone researching death records through SS could also access those still living?
I remember it because I was doing family history research at the time and had searched for my paternal grandfather and it pulled up several family members including my brothers.

Really? I missed that one.

I can’t remember now when it was, but I called my brothers and told them and then I started looking up other family members and all of a sudden the entire site shut down including the death records.
Later that night the news was reporting the SSA had issued a statement that their had been a temporary bug but they caught it and did not believe anyone’s information had been compromised.
I was sitting there with my mouth open not believing what I had just heard, it was a good hour that I had access, how many people copied all that information before it was fixed?

It just occurred to me – why can’t they send their “security code” to my email account, which they already have, and which every other company uses to send you a security code, password change etc.?

It’s the manipulation of the market by the vendors. By getting the government to use/force upon consumers, a particular service, they create a market in the private sector.

And why wasn’t it done before? SMS has been around for over a decade and a half. Oh, that’s right. I forgot. IT’S NOT SECURE.

I forgot. SMS was developed in the early 1980’s. I just didn’t start using it myself until the late 1990’s

Here it comes. If mandated and to not discriminate against anyone, government-issued phones will be part of retiring. Just like you get bumped off your insurance and are expected to use Medicare, same with the phone. . .we will not longer be able to use phone service providers and must use the government-programmed, gov-issue phone. Can see it now. I could be incorrect but I do think I may be right about this having to do with all the phone commercials for seniors on the tellie.

Government employees records have been hacked. Someone has all our information that was in the Fed employee database, plus an additional set of our medical info that was in our Federal insurance company records, which were hacked separately.

I had a mailman tell me the other day they all got a letter in the mail telling them that their system had been compromised. They thought their personal information was safe and would update them if they had any additional information and assured them they take protecting their information seriously.
He wasn’t convinced they were telling the whole truth.

I just started watching the video of Day 1, and there ARE flags on the screen. Take a look:

Until about the 30 minute mark I just briefly see some red and white stripes and I don’t see the flags on the side of the stage that Snopes has pictured. I scanned the still frame bar and I would bet that the partial American flag which included stars and stripes was shown for a total of under 3 minutes.
The DNC was probably afraid the flag would get booed just like God.

I know, but then at the 30 minute mark there is an electronic display. Even in Snope’s photos, it’s pretty difficult to discern what they are pointing out.

Snopes has now totally lost it’s credibility. I was watching and I believe all the stations were commenting on the fact that there were no flags the first day. That is why they put some out the second day.

With all the turmoil and the possibility that a women as evil as Hillary Clinton could occupy the Oval Office it is good to remember that one day above all things Hillary will be pitied. I saw this and I was struck, not ever, not for one millisecond of her life will Hillary know one one thousandth of the love that this woman must feel every day of her life.
Hillary’s husband does not love her, she was the mother Bill never had, she reigned him in and used him to her own end, Chelsea does not love her, not in the way a child naturally loves her mother, Chelsea knows in her heart that she was a prop and her own children play that same pawn in Hillary’s game of chess.
The heart knows what the soul knows.
Hillary for all her pomp and circumstance, for all her Armani tents, her homes, her power, her haughtiness, for all those who enable her, lie for her and surround her, Hillary is utterly, desolately and desperately alone.
How beautiful love is. How eternal, pure and unending.
And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.
1 Corinthians 13:13
Thank you Carl and Laura Gilbertson for reminding me of this. You are truly blessed.
