Had to go into town earlier tjis evening, about half the trip’s on a dirt/macadam barely two-lane road, then it turns into a blacktop standard two lane hiway. On the way back I turned off of the hiway and onto the macadam, had to slow down as it had rained and the road was slippery. Just about 1/4 mile down I see a box on the road, just on the pavement. It wasn’t there a half hour back when I came by, but now these it is. I slowed down as I approached it and something was popping up and down around the open top, so I stopped and got out…it was a puppy. Someone had abandoned a small black lab-mix pup, about 6 weeks old, in that box on the road.
I couldn’t leave it there in the middle of nowhere so I put it on my lap and started to drive home. I hadn’t gone a mile before it crawled up my shirt, laid down behind my neck between my neck and the headrest and put its nose in my ear. Looks like we have another dog.

I do seriously wonder why and how these dogs and cats find us. All three of the dogs here just immediately accepted the pup, no growling, and it moved in and follows us like it’s been here all along.
It’s a big house and a big farm, a small dog won’t take up thst much space.

My son-in-law has an English bulldog, goofiest dog you ever saw, when he was a pup I was dogsitting and some folks had paid for a baby goat, I came in and laid the money on the bench as you walk through the front door. Came back to get it and that darn pup had all the money in the floor, all of it was just slobbered except for one $20 bill and all that was left of it was one small corner.

One day my son-in-law was working on his car and the dog took off with a wrench, to this day he hasn’t found that wrench. I think it was too big to eat, so I figure he buried it somewhere. lol

My grandson loves that goofy dog though and the goofy dog loves my grandson.

When my Brittany was a pup, she was a heck of a chewer. She never chewed a gun, but did chew a cupboard door and plaster off the corners of the kitchen walls, and almost through the wooden slats in the child gate. She could also climb a plastic puppy play yard enclosure (in about 30 seconds) and the other child gate made of honeycomb plastic. Fortunately, she never tried to climb a chain link fence.

Judt wish that people were a bit more responsible with their animals. Even out here we have a low-to-no cost spay/neuter and low cost shots and chip program but far too many folks just let their pets roll along without proper care.

          People are nuts.

About 10 years ago my mom and her neighbor had a huge rummage sale and they donated al the money to a spay/neuter low kill shelter. They had signs up at their sale about where the money was going. Some guy got out of his car, walked up to the sale and went nuts, he started yelling literally screaming that people had no right to mutilate animals! He told us that we needed to neuter ourselves not dogs 😂.

My mom’s friend was a big woman, a hunter and afraid of nothing, she got up out of her lawn chair and started walking toward the screamer, he ran back to his car got in and took off.

He then drove by again screaming stuff out of the window of his car.

        • It is unfortunate. I’m not an animal rights activist, but I have compassion for defenseless animals that suffer needlessly. It’s hard to wrap my head around, but the same people who treat animals with disregard probably treat their fellow man much the same. Thank you for being there for that pup, I’m glad he’s blended in to your family so beautifully!

The GGS now has a pup at his mom’s house and one here, small kids and pups just go together.
The house is big and there’s plenty of room on the farm with plenty of things forvthem to do. The border collie’s getting old and the pit mix is you g and needs a cohort, not so much one of the older two, so that works out.
We are members of the local shelter so we usually take the throwouts there, they have arrangements with other shelters around the US and regularly send their surplus dogs/cats there, this one seems to have meant to be here.

The shelters around here will only take them if you live in town and require proof with a utility bill.

There are a few groups but they will never take them and instead want me to foster them and then let them find them a home. I tried that once and they kept turning everyone down for stupid reasons, the most stupid one was because the parents both worked during the day and the kids were in school, so the dog would be alone for 8 hours.

So it’s just easier to find them homes on my own.

I already have two livestock guardian dogs, plus my two yard dogs that guard the house and a house dog.

I have the room, just not the desire for any more dogs.lol

I was only half kidding, the Feds have been looking at the ‘our airspace brgins where your ground ends’ route to stop us from prescribed burns. They look at the air from where the ground ends as their personal property and use it like a club, inventing new and convoluted interpretations of laws and regulations to beat land owners over the head. They’ll get around to using the various air regulations to get religious icons removed from public display when the final push starts.

Just got this email from the Social Security Administration:

Starting in August 2016, Social Security is adding a new step to protect your privacy as a my Social Security user. This new requirement is the result of an executive order for federal agencies to provide more secure authentication for their online services. Any agency that provides online access to a customer’s personal information must use multifactor authentication.

When you sign in at ssa.gov/myaccount with your username and password, we will ask you to add your text-enabled cell phone number. The purpose of providing your cell phone number is that, each time you log in to your account with your username and password, we will send you a one-time security code you must also enter to log in successfully to your account.

Each time you sign into your account, you will complete two steps:

Step 1: Enter your username and password.
Step 2: Enter the security code we text to your cell phone (cell phone provider’s text message and data rates may apply).

The process of using a one-time security code in addition to a username and password is one form of “multifactor authentication,” which means we are using more than one method to make sure you are the actual owner of your account.

If you do not have a text-enabled cell phone or you do not wish to provide your cell phone number, you will not be able to access your my Social Security account.

If you are unable or choose not to use my Social Security, there are other ways you can contact us. To learn more, please review the Frequently Asked Questions found here.

Later that night the news was reporting the SSA had issued a statement that their had been a temporary bug but they caught it and did not believe anyone’s information had been compromised.

I was sitting there with my mouth open not believing what I had just heard, it was a good hour that I had access, how many people copied all that information before it was fixed?

It just occurred to me – why can’t they send their “security code” to my email account, which they already have, and which every other company uses to send you a security code, password change etc.?

Here it comes. If mandated and to not discriminate against anyone, government-issued phones will be part of retiring. Just like you get bumped off your insurance and are expected to use Medicare, same with the phone. . .we will not longer be able to use phone service providers and must use the government-programmed, gov-issue phone. Can see it now. I could be incorrect but I do think I may be right about this having to do with all the phone commercials for seniors on the tellie.

This from the crew that’s been illegally targeting conservative groups? This from the agency that alloed our SSNs to become the bane of our lives? The agency that refuses to do anything about that bane and allows it to be used like The Mark of the Beast?

The government version of the guy in the trench coat who hangs out by playgrounds.

These people want us to trust them with national security and they can’t even secure their own information?

Government employees records have been hacked. Someone has all our information that was in the Fed employee database, plus an additional set of our medical info that was in our Federal insurance company records, which were hacked separately.

I had a mailman tell me the other day they all got a letter in the mail telling them that their system had been compromised. They thought their personal information was safe and would update them if they had any additional information and assured them they take protecting their information seriously.

He wasn’t convinced they were telling the whole truth.

The meme from the Dem supporters this morning is {SMH} that the Dem convention was much more patriotic than the GOP Convention because they had more flags, etc, on the last days. Unbelievable that they can say this stuff with a straight face.

With all the turmoil and the possibility that a women as evil as Hillary Clinton could occupy the Oval Office it is good to remember that one day above all things Hillary will be pitied. I saw this and I was struck, not ever, not for one millisecond of her life will Hillary know one one thousandth of the love that this woman must feel every day of her life.

Hillary’s husband does not love her, she was the mother Bill never had, she reigned him in and used him to her own end, Chelsea does not love her, not in the way a child naturally loves her mother, Chelsea knows in her heart that she was a prop and her own children play that same pawn in Hillary’s game of chess.

The heart knows what the soul knows.

Hillary for all her pomp and circumstance, for all her Armani tents, her homes, her power, her haughtiness, for all those who enable her, lie for her and surround her, Hillary is utterly, desolately and desperately alone.

How beautiful love is. How eternal, pure and unending.

And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.

    1 Corinthians 13:13

Thank you Carl and Laura Gilbertson for reminding me of this. You are truly blessed.
