Still Bitter Jeb says Pope Brought on Trump’s Nomination
http://nypost.com/2016/07/12/still-bitter-jeb-bush-says-pope-brought-on-trumps-nomination/
Donald Trump got an assist from a higher authority to win the Republican nomination, according to one-time rival Jeb Bush.
“The pope intervening in American politics didn’t help,” Bush said in an interview Monday with MSNBC, referring to the mass the pontiff held at the US-Mexico border just before the South Carolina primary– highlighting a hot-button issue for Trump, who has vowed to build a wall there.
“The news cycle was dominated by that. Trump, to his credit, was very smart at exploiting these kind of opportunities,” Bush griped.
“You’re a Catholic blaming the pope?” interviewer and former Bush staffer Nicolle Wallace wondered.
“No, no, I’m not blaming,” Bush said with a laugh. “I mean, [I had] been talking about basically open borders at a time when the whole Trump phenomena was to build a wall and let, make Mexico pay for where he goes — literally goes to the border for a massive mass,” 🤔eh? What’s that whiny Jeb? Trump’s got another politician stammering like Porky Pig.
What a totally classless man.

Why can’t Jeb just let it go? He just makes himself look pathetic every time he opens his mouth.

I thought wevwere donevwith tha whole Pope interfering in US politics thing back with Kennedy. If the majority of US Catholics pick and choose on doctrinal matters what makes Jeb think they listen to him on political matters? What makes Jeb think we listen to him?

Good point.

This is just too funny and pathetic. The pope got Trump the nomination? This is not the sign of a man (Jeb) with any intelligence and ability to reason. Most people got the exact opposite impression of the pope’s behavior. If I remember correctly, the pope said one of his “things”, something that inferred Trump was not a Christian. Then the pope had to backtrack and correct his statement, although probably almost no one knows he backtracked.
It’s still really hard for me to believe that people who call themselves Catholic vote in such large numbers for Democrats, the party who has kicked “God” out of their platform, the party that supports killing babies, the party that brought us gay marriage and men invading women’s bathrooms.

Those Catholics are the ones who never go to confession, who are making their grocery lists in line for Communion, and who think the Real Presence is a rock band. For the life of me I don’t understand why they continue to identify as Catholic, but I believe we must pray much for them, reach out to them, hopefully by our actions and works break through to at least some of them.
LikeLiked by 4 people
You are right. Every day I pray that those who are not saved will come to belief in God and be saved. I pray for the reunion of all Christians to a state in this world which reflects the Will of God. I pray for those who have believed and turned away from their beliefs, that they return. But when I pray for apostate Catholics or Catholics who behave the way you describe, those prayers always carry an additional concern. To say you are a Catholic is to say, in the eyes of the world and before God, that you believe what the Church teaches, you believe in the reality of the Sacraments and especially the meaning of the Real Presence, the Eucharist, Source and Summit of the life of the Church. I was correctly taught in RCIA by a good priest, how important this is and it is not to be taken lightly. With these great gifts comes greater responsibility and accountability. To be a baptized Catholic and ignore the requirements of confession and mass attendance, to treat the Real Presence as though it is just symbolic or basically meaningless, is to put oneself in a grave situation. To receive Communion while in a state of mortal sin is unbelievably dangerous imo and in the opinion of the Church.
I have read comments from Catholics all over the country, saying the same thing essentially – their parish has one time for Confession every week, usually 30-45 minutes set aside. Few people show up for Confession. Yet at the Vigil Mass or Sunday Mass, everyone in the church lines up to receive. This is not good. God is the ultimate Judge of every soul, but when we stand before Him, few Catholics will be able to say they did not know. That priests and bishops are allowing this, and in many cases encouraging it, is an even greater cause for concern.

I just saw this list of suggestions a dying woman made for people who wish to remember her, in lieu of flowers. It was so wonderful I thought I would share it.
Spend an hour in adoration of our good God
Spend a day (or night) in humble service to a stranger
Offer a simple act of gratitude to God for His gift of life to you, and to your loved ones
Pray to God to discover just who it is you most need to forgive (even if it is you) and then: truly forgiving that person. Face-to-face if possible.
Listen for that still, small voice again: then paying attention with trust and confidence
Meditate on: “This we have as an anchor of the soul, sure and firm, which reaches into the interior behind the veil” (Hebrews 6:19)
Meditate on: “…but rather the hidden character of the heart, expressed in the imperishable beauty of a gentle and calm disposition, which is precious in the sight of God.” (1 Peter 3:4)

First news story I see on local Fox station is a piece by national Fox that was less than flattering on the Dallas PD using the robot to blast the sniper. I knew it, I knew it, I knew it, the entire MSM’s looking at this as some how unsporting, unfair and a violation of his due process. The thought of R2D2 sneaking up behind a wall and blasting Darth instead of Randolph Scott coming in guns ablasin’ just doesn’t sit right with ’em.

The Feds broke up the old Bell system as it was a monopoly. It took decades but it sort of reconstituted and, despite its having viable competition, acts like the old Bell.
I called this morning, wanting to find out how much it would cost me to cancel my plan and go to another service. After the usual looooong and irritating wait I get the ironically named ‘customervservice’. I’m asked why I want yo cancel my cell service and I say that it’s because I don’t have the cell setvicevI pay for, I have no reception on mynfarm and two other carriers now service my area. Next I’m told that they have to send me a text with a pin number in it before they can talk to me further about my account – I remind them that the reason I’m calling is that I don’t have reception. The little servicecrep then asks me if I’m sure as his screen tells him that I have reception and I reply that I’m capable of looking at my phone, as I have almost every day for the last eight years, and seing if it has any bars. He replies that for just a few hundred dollars I can buy and install an ATT amplifier that will get the signal I already pay for to an actual cell tower.
Sigh, Verizon’s looking more better by the day…that should be a measure of my desperation.

Verizon is an excellent company, but their services aren’t cheap (at least that’s the way it was when I was still a customer).

I’ve been using T-Mobile since about 2003. At that time, T-Mobile’s parent company was Deutsche Telekom and it allowed for sending and receiving free text (SMS) messages from mobile providers in European and Russia. I don’t use it for that any more, but have stayed with them out of habit. I use Verizon prepay for my cellular broadband (non-voice)service for notebooks, etc.

I really like Verizon but my price is almost twice what I paid AT&T. Much better coverage and also better, but not perfect, customer service.

I’ve found Verizon’s customer service to be on par with all of the ‘me Tarzan, you Jane’ wireless services, no better, no worse. We get much better coverage with Verizon than ATT…to be corrct we get coverage, period. I have a minutes rollover program left over from a plan I had many years agonwith a company ATT bought out. If I ever get the ATT coverage I pay for I’ll be able to talk nonstop for weeks.

Our problem is that we’vevhad the same cell numbers for over twenty years and they are almost inextricably tied to our interests. We need a carrier thst will port our Louisiana numbers to a Mississippi locale. I’m probably going to go to a plan with limited minutes and no data as I spent too long working with foljs who used the smartphones against the owners, makes me itchy.
As for wifi we’re sorta screwed as the only service we have for internet that doesn’t bend us over the barrel…OK, over the barrel a lot…is that old barfly Hughesnet. At least now they allow you to terminate the cable into a router.

I’ve stayed with what I’m using in part for the same reason. I need to keep the same number. It has worked out for the best in my case.
I had a client who retired from government service, and he limited what radio devices and internet accounts he had.

We’re of an age where our phone numbers were sort of an identity card, now it is just a series of numbers that identifies a mobile phone.

We all use Straight Talk around here, we were all on US Cellular but it got too expensive. We buy phones that work off AT&T towers because Verizon, Sprint or T-mobile doesn’t work in a lot of areas, including our home. Although AT&T doesn’t work inside the house except for certain rooms when you are in one certain spot and don’t move. lol
It’s $45/month unlimited per phone.
My brother uses AT&T go phone or something like which is comparable to what we pay, it’s cheaper than it was when he had a phone with an AT&T account, which makes zero sense to me.
You can buy used phones that are very inexpensive through a lot of places. Of course you don’t get insurance on your phone, but in the long run it’s still a lot cheaper.

Other departments, bowing to,pc pressures and paranoia, are notballowingntheir officers to carry, saying that problems are unlikely and their duty shotguns ( if they even have them) are good enough. I’m betting some are carrying them anyway – better judged by twelve rather than carried by six.

Wondering if his handlers are trying to getnhim to ease up on whipping the O-presed commoonity to kill police? His speech, while still self-serving, was milder than one would expect and his pushing his ‘no self defense for white Christian conservatives’ agenda was a wee bit muted. Good move bringing Bush II along as his beard, I imagine part of Bush II’s appearance was the Texas crowd being scared of a Kennedy redux in Dallas so they’re using him as an sair freshener for Obama. That’s a tall order, pardner.

This is what I got.
Constitutional lawyer James Bopp, an Indiana delegate to the Republican National Convention who is close the governor, told The Washington Times that Indiana House Speaker Brian C. Bosma, 58, a conservative Republican, had sought advice from him on running for governor.
“He wanted my counsel on what he needed to do to set himself up to run for governor, because he expects Pence to step down as governor in order to be Trump’s running mate,” Mr. Bopp said in an interview.
The Trump election team boosted the Pence speculation Sunday by suddenly adding a campaign rally in Indianapolis to a fundraiser planned for Tuesday featuring Mr. Trump and Mr. Pence.
Several Republicans close to the campaign and to the governor have told The Times over the last 24 hours that they are now convinced it’ll be Mr. Pence.
The 57 year old Pence has served as Governor of Indiana since 2013. Before that, Pence spent over a decade in Congress, where he was widely regarded as a principled social and fiscal conservative.

Obama is like a women who read about spousal abuse and deciding then and there that all men are monsters and that she will never be fooled by men so she attacks them verbally every chance she gets. She considers all sex rape. All compliments sexual harassment. She has so riled herself up that hateful wretch is her natural state of being.
Obama is simply a walking, talking bundled of hate in the shape of a gangly, awkward large eared feminine man. He is the embodiment of all that is unholy.

Think we have a problem in WI? Wonder about Paul Ryan and his wife’s bedfellows?
A little information about our former state AG Democrat Peg Lautenschlager.
In 2004, the former Wisconsin Ethics Board assessed Lautenschlager $922 in penalties and reimbursements for her personal use of a state vehicle. That violation stemmed from from a DUI charge in Dodge County on February 23 of that year.
Driving her state vehicle from Madison to her home in Fond du Lac that night, Lautenschlager slid into a ditch. Her blood alcohol level after the accident was .12. The legal limit in Wisconsin is .08. She later pleaded guilty to the DUI charge and also acknowledged her state ethics violation.
Lautenschlägers Clintonian defense ? She didn’t know what she was doing was wrong.
Peg Lautenschläger was given the boot for ethical lapses.
And on July 11th 2016, take a wild guess who was selected by a unanimous vote (3 democrats) to be chair of Wisconsin’s new and improved Ethics Board. There are also 3 republicans on the board but the democrats won the coin flip to decide who would be chair.
I believe one of the members was part of the GAB (Governors Accountability Board) of infamous John Doe malfeasance, but I have to do some more looking. The Ethics Board was created and GAB disbanded to install confidence in Wisconsinites.

You just can’t make this stuff up. The Onion is going to go out of business because reality is more absurd than anything they can make up.

For all: this is a Airbus 350 doing a “Vertical Takeoff”. It’s a great display of airmanship. No passengers, maybe half tank of gas, and with the company’s permission…..looks to me a 55-65% climb, full power to about 5k a little twist, stand on the left wing, throttle back, down to 3k level off and a fly by…..with the flight computer off!!!! The only aircrafts that takes of vertical helos, Osprey and Harrier…..anybody want to sit in the Left seat???????
