Stella took the excuse….errrr….reason right outta my mouth. Not only that but you never mix the really expensive stuff with sardines and garlic. Jug Chianti’s the best stuff to do heavy red sauce with and if you need to taste test it frequently in the process so that you don’t lose the taste thread, welllllll….
Also great for removing bugs from your windshield.

I was talking to our postmaster awhile back after one of their rural carriers got arrested and his vehicle impounded with mail in it. I told her at least she wouldn’t have to worry about him anymore because surely that was grounds for automatic termination.
She laughed and said this particular carrier had two DUIs and still had a job, so even if he went to prison on these drug charges it was only a matter of time for him to get his job back if he wanted it back.
I asked her how that was possible and she said although they had rules and guidelines, there were loopholes in those rules and guidelines and unions know how to use those loopholes and the upper folks don’t care because they don’t have to deal with carriers who come to work when they feel like it and drink and do drugs while delivering mail. The perks of being a federal employee is you have a job for life if you want it regardless of what you do.

And the USPS is only a quasi-government agency.
In all of my years with civil service saw only one civil servant fired, and that was after the FBI pushed through the building’s gurads and arrested him for downloading and storing kiddie porn on his government computer. Even then the agebpncy’s staff had warned him a few times before that to stop doing it. Then there was obe of my bosses carrying on an open ‘relationship’ with a parttime employee, ignoring openly any number of civil service regulations in the process. Then there were the contractors….but you get the idea.
Of course the incestuous relationship between certain local civilian political and ‘special’ colleges helped stir the mud but no one ever said, with a straight face, that Federal civil service was designed to serve the public.

Let’s see if it passes the Supreme Court test. You know that red state AGs are going to jointly go after enforcement of this in the courts. But then Obama will be out of office whipping up those corner thugs to protestbthe historic o-presshun of da man so he can say he signed it but whoever lost it. I can’t see the pro-carbon limits folks giving Bill or Hillary as much in position-swaying donations as the oil and coal folks.

As far as I can tell from reading other articles, it will not go to the Supreme Court unless congress tries to stop it. We all know how great this Congress has been on Obama deals. They would have to stop funding for it and they have a very bad track record on those matters.

Kasich Suspending Indiana Campaign
http://indypolitics.org/2016/04/24/kasich-suspending-indiana-campaign/
In an effort to block Donald Trump from getting the Republican nomination for President, Ohio Governor John Kasich is suspending his Presidential campaign in Indiana, thereby allowing Ted Cruz to be the alternative choice in the Hoosier state.
According to a source close to the campaign, in exchange for suspending the Indiana campaign, Cruz will cease operations in New Mexico and Oregon, thus allowing both candidates to maximize their resources in areas where they can best be used.
Because of that Kasich is suspending his town hall on Tuesday in Hamilton County and election returns watch party downtown. However, he does plan to attend a fundraiser that evening in downtown Indianapolis.
A spokesman released the following statement, just moments ago…
“Donald Trump doesn’t have the support of a majority of Republicans – not even close, but he currently does have almost half the delegates because he’s benefited from the existing primary system. Our goal is to have an open convention in Cleveland, where we are confident a candidate capable of uniting the Party and winning in November will emerge as the nominee. We believe that will be John Kasich, who is the only candidate who can defeat Secretary Clinton and preserve our GOP majority in the Congress….

And what’s the point of a “GOP majority in Congress” anyway? Doesn’t seem to mean anything at all.

Sure it does Mary. It means they are still sucking the life out of us to get what they want, to look forward to cushy benefits and insurance all their lives, and a fine padded pocket now with big money futures on K Street or getting paid off from corporations who know their access to the powers that be will be worth the underhanded money.
It means a lot to them, and it’s cruel of us to be upsetting their apple cart. It has made them very mad, so mad they have forgotten to hide their scorn for us, and play the usual games.

You are right–but what I really meant, is that it doesn’t mean anything to US at all. Having a GOP majority doesn’t appear to be any different from a DEM majority, these days.

He can suspend his campaign, but he will still be on the ballot. It is too late for the state to redo them now. Plus he would have to request to be removed. The ballots are already printed.

I was talking to a friend on FB last night who was asking me if it concerned me about Trump’s answer to the NC law or his surrogates comments to the RNC.
I told him I didn’t agree with him about men using womens’ bathrooms, but to be honest I don’t know how you’re going to police public bathrooms, because some of these people it’s hard to tell what body parts are under the dress.
As for the comments to the RNC, I didn’t really like them and I’m not overly fond of the people he has recently brought in, but understand why he brought them in. However, I’m not as stupid as the RNC or Cruz or self professing conservatives think I am and have been around long enough to know all you’re doing when you vote for someone is putting your faith in that person that they will do what they say they will do. All I care about is giving our country a fighting chance and start enforcing our immigration laws and secure our border. I’m old school and believe in dancing with the one who brought you to the party and Trump is the one who brought us to that party.
I will always be grateful to Trump even if they manage to steal the nomination because he forced the conversation on amnesty, he exposed a lot of people, and he exposed how crooked our nomination process is.

State AGs are going to have conniption fits when Obama and some nebulous foreign entities start imposing fees on them and their citizens. I can even see some AGs from RAT states that are already having fiscal problems joining in. Wouldn’t be the first time they’ve done it and their chances look pretty good.
Congress may jump in, even some RATs develop a rudimentary spine when the WH, regardless of which Party POTUS hack did it, when they see the Executive Branch horning in on the Legislative Branch’s turf.

Amen and amen.
A blessed day to all!
LikeLiked by 5 people
This is something I pray frequently about. My spiritual weaknesses of course, but I pray for courage, strength of will, and the fortitude to survive the testing and trials that may come late in my life.
I have only faith and whatever strength of character I possess. No military training, nothing that would prepare me to be in really adverse societal circumstances. I sure do wish I had some of that training, not because of fighting skills (they would have made me a cook or an accountant) but because of the drilling and preparation you get so that you can withstand perhaps even combat by falling back on training. That would be a comfort to at least have that preparation. I have none.

Menagerie–
You have God and your faith, and that is sufficient (and strength of character means a LOT). Surviving catastrophes is useful, but we must not focus on that at the expense of preparing for eternity. [I hope you understand what I am trying to say–it isn’t the easiest thing to phrase.] One’s choice of priorities is critical.
Mind you, I will be doing my best to survive whatever comes down the pike. And I will give my all, fighting for what I believe is right, and what I believe is God’s will. But it is the “spiritual war” St. Augustine references that really counts. We need to “do valiantly” in that spiritual war.

Welp, I did some impulse buying today, ran to the grocery store and they were having a sale on plants and trees, 25% off all plants and 50% off all trees, bushes and shrubs. So, I came home with peonies, clematis, columbines, several other small perennials, several annuals, 2 rose bushes, a hydrangea, rose of sharon, half dozen azaleas, japanese maple, 2 apple trees, and a redbud tree.
My DH about stroked out when he got home. lol
He asked me where I was putting all this stuff and shook his head when I told him the apple trees and the redbud was going where I had him cut down the cedar trees and I wasn’t sure about the japanese maple, but I’d find a spot. He really shook his head when I told him I needed him to get out the tiller because I needed a new bed for my azaleas, roses and hydrangea.
Then he wanted to know how much I spent so I told him there was a sale and he couldn’t just be content with that answer.
We finished planting about 30 minutes ago and it sure is pretty.

Breitbart just posted that Target is going to make all of its bathrooms gender-whatever. You could be attending to natural functions with a crossdressing Ted Bundy/Bundyette or drooling perv – or your kids might. Does eleviate that problem the squeamish have when it comes to taking your other-gender child into the restroom when a like-gender parent’s not available. “”Hey you, yeah you with the chiffon schmata and beard, would you mind taking my young daughter into the ladies room?”
Target’s already stopped legal gun carriers with ccws or in an open carry state from bringing their firearms into a Target, now they’re making our kids targets.

Burglary, Bias Crime Investigation at Africatown Center, Arrest Made
http://spdblotter.seattle.gov/2016/03/26/burglary-bias-crime-investigation-at-africatown-center-arrest-made/
…
The initial incident was on Sunday, March 20th, and involved a known East African male who volunteers at the center writing an insufficient funds check to the center, and also the theft of some computers and electronics.
…
Later in the week the center was burglarized again, but this time there was graffiti targeted at African Americans. The center personnel again suspected the same East African male who was not present. He was located about four hours later, and after being interviewed was arrested for burglary. The racist graffiti was documented in the report and photographed.
The suspect was arrested for the burglary and is a suspect in the bias crime. This remains an active investigation.
