      Lemme get this straight…in their last life my loafers were mean to a cat?

        LOL! took me a minute .. I’ve never owned a cat, soon though. 😀
        The sign should say “mean to any animal” but I bet a die-hard cat person made it.

          Cats are not dogs and the things thst give you satisfaction with a dog are not quite (completely?) the same with a cat. Example today: Czarina was out putting mulch down around the tomatoes, dog was out, dog was running around doing dog stuff and keeping the area safe, no big deal. The outside cat came over, about 150 feet from the house, walked around her, sat on the papers about ten feet from her and stayed for a couple of hours – major topic of conversation.
          If you find yourself feeling like you’ve really accomplished something if the cat acknowledges your existence, if you fret over your cat snubbing the choice cut of maple smoked salmon you’re offering it for dinner, if you found yourself talking to your cat and believing it understands, let alone gives a rat’s patoot – welcome to the club.

            LOL! I’d much rather have two dogs, siblings, we had two cocker spaniels for 16/17 years. But we will be traveling more and so, after much thought, we need cats .. probably Calico or tabby. And yes, we will live in their world and they will rule the roost at some point and time… I’ve been told.

              Great choice. I’ve found that as long as the cat has food, water and a litter box (the latter at times is optional) and some piece of furniture to sleep on/destroy, they’re pretty much oblivious to your presence or lack thereof.

                Case in point: I’m trying to close out and go to bed but the male inside-cat’s sitting on my chest and leaning into the iPad. He wants to go in and sleep on our bed but the border collie’s lying right across the bedroom door and won’t let him in. He’s going to bug me until I pick him up, carry him over the dog and deposit him on the bed where we’ll have the usual arguement over space.
                I’d throw him out if he weren’t so good at…good at……..I’ll get back to you on that.

        One tangent. Just one, today, Stella.

        The things you can learn via the innertubes and Wikipedia.

        Ukrainian and Russian Orthodox, Ruthenian, Polish, Czech, Slovak, Bavarian and Austrian Roman Catholics, Finnish and Baltic Lutherans and Orthodox and various other Eastern European peoples carry pussy willows on Palm Sunday instead of palm branches. This custom has continued to this day among Ukrainian Orthodox Church, Romanian Orthodox, Russian Orthodox, Ruthenian Catholic, Ukrainian Catholic, Kashubian Catholic and Polish Catholic emigrees to North America. Sometimes, on Palm Sunday they will bless both palms and pussywillows in church. The branches will often be preserved throughout the year in the family’s icon corner.

        Pussy willow also plays a predominant role in Polish <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/%C5%9Amigus-dyngus#Specific_traditions"Dyngus Day (Easter Monday) observances, continued also among Polish-Americans, especially in the Buffalo, New York area.

        What an odd world this is.

    “Tiger Whisperer mauled to death by tiger”

    Alternative headlines;

    “Teh big kitties no likely teh whispers” or “Use your common sense.”

    A Florida zookeeper known to her colleagues as the “Tiger Whisperer’’ died after she was attacked by a rare species of big cat Friday.
